It's true. You really can't kill Wolverine.
Hugh Jackman is already hitting the gym for a sequel to the just-released
X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Nicktoons just
ordered 26 more episodes of
Wolverine and the X-Men.
The animated show was a big hit on Nicktoons, helping give the network its highest-ratings ever in key demos. The new eps will kick off May 22.
I know a lot of
X-Men fans had problems with
Wolverine and the X-Men, but I love the show. Being a Cyclops fan (yes, we do exist), it sorta bugs me that Wolverine is billed as the leader of the X-Men on the show, but that's a minor complaint. The show is fun, packed with cool, somewhat obscure Marvel mutants, and it's pretty entertaining for kids and adults.

Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow.I'd like to apologize to the makers of
My Own Worst Enemy. I enjoyed the show to a certain extent, but I have no intention of buying the complete series set (complete series meaning one season). It's one of those shows that I kinda enjoyed each week, yet at the same time I'm not going to miss it, and I can't imagine grabbing the DVDs off of my shelf and watching the episodes again.
There's actually nothing I want to buy this week, so my wallet/bank account will be happy.
- Battlestar Galactica - Caprica
- Dallas - Season 11
- Freakazoid - Season 2
- iCarly - Season 1, Vol. 2

Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow.Wings is really one of the more underrated sitcoms of all-time. It bopped along for eight seasons in various time slots and never got any real critical acclaim, but it was a very likable show, entertaining and with some really well-written characters. And now they've released it in a box set, which means I have to go out and buy it. That's happening more and more with shows nowadays: after the single seasons have been released, they come out with a complete set. This irritates some people who have bought the single season sets, but I'm not quite sure what fans expect.
- Cranford - Complete Miniseries (Blu-Ray)
- Death Note - Box Set, Vol. 2
- Exosquad - Season 1

It took a while, but the X-Men are finally heading back to TV.
Nicktoons premieres the third X-Men animated series,
Wolverine and The X-Men, on January 23, and I'm happy to report that Brett Ratner's name does not appear on the credits list.
I caught the first few episodes at last summer's San Diego Comic-Con, but I failed to show up at least two days before the screening. The line to get in was unbelievably long, and I ended up in the back of the screening room with a giant pole blocking my view. (The guy in the Rorschach costume sitting next to me was pissed!) Luckily, Nicktoons was nice enough to send me a screener of the first two episodes. Click through for info, clips and some minor spoilers.
