Yes, I still mourn
Veronica Mars. We all know season three wasn't up to par, but that is all the more reason to mourn what once was.
Jane's recent post,
listing six reasons why we need a Las Vegas movie, inspired me to think about, and now write about, why we really need a
Veronica Mars movie.
In some ways, the finale was a shout out to the
Veronica Mars of old -- Logan was a downright jerk again, left only to his aggression and baser instincts; Veronica was stable and a goody-goody girlfriend (remember the Duncan days?) and Weevil got some balls and was up to his old tricks again. We liked all of that.

(S03E16) First of all, I have to come out and say that I feel like an ass for not reminding readers of TV Squad that
Veronica Mars was returning tonight. Unfortunately since my cable network doesn't carry The CW in HD, and since I don't watch anything else on the channel, I felt like the show's return came with very little fanfare.
The return of the show marks the beginning of the new mini-mystery-only format, though I think I can already see where they're going with things to keep fans of longer plots interested. While we didn't get the beginnings of a five-episode mystery arc, we did get a few nuggets thrown in that will more than likely last through to the season finale.

(S03E01) It was interesting watching this episode for the second time with a fresh pair of eyes. I still need to hold off on saying too much until after next week's episode, as it's there where I felt we get a feel for the flow of the season.
Now, thankfully, I can discuss this episode with the rest of you and see what you're thoughts were on a few things.

(S02E18) Most times when you wake up from a dream and remember most of what happened, there's a lot of
symbolism going on. You know, dreams of being late for an exam means you feel unprepared, dreams of falling means you're
insecure about something, and talking in front of class naked ... well that
really
happened. Long story.
This episode was filled with all sorts of dream hints and clues from Veronica's
point of view, though their interpretation shouldn't be anything more than what Veronica herself has figured out on her
own; these aren't ghosts she's talking to.

Things are back on track this week after last week's brief detour. Both mysteries get some
serious advancement in this episode, all the major players are there and -- thank God -- Veronica's not moping around
because her love is gone.
The question I had at the end of the last episode was why would Wallace feel at
all threatened by a newspaper reporter? Then, in this episode, we see that Wallace tells his story to the press, only
to have it blow up in his face. OK, two things: 1) Wallace should have told the reporter where to stick it, and 2) Why
the hell would Wallace tell a reporter before he told police?
