Okay, now that it's behind us, we can say that
Lindsay Lohan's turn on Ugly Betty was pretty lame. However, I have hope that other guest stars will do much better. Therefore, the news that Broadway star -- multiple Tony winner --
Bernadette Peters will appear on Ugly Betty is a good thing. Just the name of the character she's playing, Jodie Papadakis, is funny.
Please, please, let this be a sign of good things to come, because
Ugly Betty could use an injection of good stuff. So far this season, the show has lurched around searching for its comedic soul.

Sometimes it's hard to denote sarcasm in a post headline, but please note: sarcasm!
The People's Choice Award nominees have been announced, and the list is the very definition of unexciting. The nominees for Best Drama are
Grey's Anatomy,
CSI, and
House. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. No
Mad Men,
Dexter, or
Lost? The nominees for Favorite Comedy are
Two and a Half Men,
Samantha Who?, and
Ugly Betty. No
30 Rock? No
Office? Sally Field and Mariska Hargitay are up for Favorite Female TV Star (really?). In the Favorite Game Show category,
Jeopardy! is up against
Deal Or No Deal and
Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader and I know it's not going to win.

Call it stunt casting gone bad...or a good idea on paper that failed to produce anything interesting on film. I'm speaking, of course, of La Diva Lohan's mini-arc on Ugly Betty as Kimmie, Betty's high school nemesis.
Lindsay Lohan's guest stint on Ugly Betty has come to an end. If you read some of the stories across the media today, things got very ugly indeed on the New York set. Whether it's true or not that LiLo was a walking disaster area, that she feuded with America Ferrara and irritated the crew, is all conjecture and rumor. The bottom line is that it's over.
E's Kristin Dos Santos confirmed today that all of Lindsay's remaining appearances -- four upcoming episodes, including tonight's -- will be shown. However, that's all there is and there will be no more.

This season of
Project Runway lost some star power when Jennifer Lopez pulled out of judging the final runway shows due to a "foot injury" (which apparently didn't hamper her in a triathalon the next weekend).
But the reality show plans to make up for it.
Access Hollywood says that Lindsay Lohan will be the guest critic in the premiere of the sixth season, the first with
new producers and a new network in Lifetime.
Lohan's already in New York for her guest role on
Ugly Betty, and the cast can't believe the "mayhem" she incites everywhere she goes. Ana Ortiz told
ABC News Radio, "It really puts it into perspective the bubble that she has to live in ... people yelling at her and cussing at her. It's unbelievable."

The third most important story in the Entertainment section of my news page this morning is this: which stars are going to present awards at this year's
Emmy Awards ceremony (September 21 on ABC). And to that I say a big ... who cares?
Every year, in the weeks leading up to the Emmys, we hear about which stars are going to present awards. I've always found it odd because the people they say are going to present are, you know,
TV stars. Seriously, this is the Emmy Awards, and like the Oscars or the Grammys, I expect the people who have something to do with television (maybe the people who actually star on the shows!) to either present awards, introduce segments of the show, or even host. Yeah, it's mildly interesting that
William Petersen and Laurence Fishburne will present an award together, since
Fishburne is taking over for Petersen on
CSI, but it's not that big of a deal. And it's certainly not a big deal that
America Fererra and Vanessa Williams are going to present an award or that
Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Hugh Laurie are going to present awards -
separately. I would assume that these current TV stars will be involved in some way, but even if they aren't, why is it news?

Gas is at an all-time high and people are trying to save money, and ABC has a solution:
stay at home and watch television.
The network has named the week of September 21st "National Stay At Home Week." It's the week when many of their shows (including
Grey's Anatomy,
Opportunity Knocks, and
Ugly Betty) premiere for the fall season and they think it's a perfect time to stay home, save gas, and catch up on your favorite shows (and new ones). It also happens to be the day of the
Emmys. The network starting to show promos for the special week (check out one of them after the jump).
Of course, these returning shows and new shows are on in primetime, and viewers still have to work during the day, so they'll still be using that gas. Unless ABC is telling people to stay home all day and night that week and also watch
Good Morning America,
The View, and
All My Children.
We here have been celebrating this week for years. Every week and every month.
