Here's a cool idea: TVSeriesFinale.com, a site devoted to the last episodes of TV shows.
They cover the series finale of all types of shows (sitcoms, dramas, reality shows, etc), whether they are canceled after several seasons on the air or pulled immediately by the networks (*cough* Day Break *cough*). It's not just breaking news (though there is plenty of that too), it's actualy in-depth summaries of final episodes, what happened to the characters and what they went on to do after the show went off the air.
I'm glad the site explains that episode of The Golden Girls I saw last year. It seemed to be a pilot for a spinoff series that never happened, but it included David Leisure as an annoying neighbor. They reworked the show and turned it into Empty Nest. Also, I had no idea that Nurses was a spinoff of Empty Nest.

Monday has always been the saddest day of the week for fans of Late Night With Conan O'Brien. The show is always in reruns that night (I guess Conan likes long weekends). But NBC says in new promo spots that Conan will be new on Mondays night from now on, starting September 18.
Hmmm...I wonder if this is his idea or the networks? Did Conan want to go back to doing a new show on Monday nights, or did the network want it, perhaps connected to his getting The Tonight Show in 2009?
By the way, in a recent interview with Charlie Rose, Conan confirmed that he'll probably move to Burbank when he takes over for Jay Leno.

Ken Levine gives his thoughts on the Emmy nominations. Favorite line: "And I guess the bloom is off the rose for Nip/Tuck, now so weird it's entered Bjork country."
- Dave Thomas wants to start a petition to get NBC to pick up the YouTube hit Nobody's Watching.
- Aaron Barnhart has redesigned the TV Barn blog. I like how he calls America's Got Talent "the slutty stepsister of Ed Sullivan and Chuck Barris."
- Hey, all you Taylor Hicks fans: instead of being ticked off at me all the time, be ticked off at Tim Goodman!

TV critic Aaron Barnhart has a revealing (and funny)
behind the scenes look at the FOX upfront he attended. Now, this isn't a typical upfront. Most don't go on for three hours in a hot room filled with 3000 sweaty writers going crazy, but it's a good example on how not to do one, and it's worth the read.
24's Kiefer Sutherland and
House's Hugh Laurie make apperances, but still fail to make the crowd forget their discomfort. And speaking of discomfort, it increases when Brad Garrett comes out and makes nasty jokes about Paula Abdul and Pam Anderson. Actually, I thought his lines were pretty funny!

Tim Goodman is one of the best TV critics working today,
and now he has a blog! Tim Goodman: The Bastard
Machine. Check out his concerns on where Lost is headed, and who he calls Cigarette Smoking Man (hint:
it's someone on Survivor).

Commander-In-Chief.
- Some truly disturbing
pics of four guys from The Amazing Race.
- Over at Romenesko: maybe Katie Couric should take half of her new CBS salary
and spend it on reporting.

CSPAN's Brian Lamb has a great
interview with MSNBC newsman Keith
Olbermann, where they touch on everything from his work history to his opinion of Bill O'Reilly to the bad accident he
had in the early 80s.
On a completely self-involved note, Lamb actually quotes many of the things that
Olbermann
said to me when I interviewed him a few years ago.
It's good to see people are still reading this stuff, even if it is three years old.
