Ah, another Hollywood fairytale is created. This time around it involves Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and her boyfriend, Tony Parker of the NBA's San Antonio Spurs. According to their spokespeople the couple is now officially engaged. Yes, I know, the world is better place with that knowledge.
The couple met back in 2004 in the Spurs locker room after Longoria told a local news reporter that Parker was her favorite player. The whole thing was caught on tape (what isn't these days?) and aired on NBA Access With Ahmad Rashad. After secretly dating for several months they officially announced they were a couple in the summer of 2005. After a brief split in September of this year Parker proposed to Longoria Wednesday night at the actress's home.
The couple will tie the knot sometime next summer, which is when our official utopia will begin. And, yes, I am being snarky.
According to some recent buzz, Eva Longoria
does not plan to renew her contract with ABC's Desperate Housewives. Longoria said, "I don't want to be on 7th Heaven -- on for 20 years and no one's really watching
and it's hanging on by a thread." Apparently, she'd rather not waste her
time on the show past her contract because she has her sights set solely upon the silver screen (she already has one
new film, The Sentinel, co-starring Michael Douglas).
I'm not that into the whole Housewives scene, but I've heard that many think the show has lost its
steam since it started out with a bang in 2004. Do you think Longoria's worrying a little too early, or are her fears
justified?
Eva Longoria may be a tiny, little woman but she has a
big mouth. She's been dating San Antonio Spurs basketball player Tony Parker and has been talking about how she is his
'teacher' in the bedroom. She recently told Allure
magazine that she is the second person 23-year-old Parker has ever had sex with. How do you think he feels about her
talking about their sex life?
Longoria said of her French-born boyfriend, "Since I grew up in Texas,
I'm like the people he's gotten used to around San Antonio instead of being a Hollywood actress who's selfish and
arrogant and full of herself... and screamy."
As most folks know by now, Eva Longoria and her boyfriend Tony Parker got pulled over the other day.
The officer said they were verbally abusive and they said he was out of line. Back and forth. After the incident, and
while attending Parker's basketball game in Detroit, Longoria even "flashed" some of the
fans. So far, she's living up to her Desperate Housewives namesake while maintaining the whole B-I-T-C-H
factor. But now she's taking it a step further. No surprise that Longoria is now filing charges against the officer, claiming that his
behavior was out of line. What may be surprising to you is that the officer is currently under investigation for
misconduct while on the job. So maybe Eva didn't really call him a "Mexican bike cop." Anyone want to believe
that?
... with a Spurs championship ring on
it. Well, actually she was probably just holding it. Most likely due to the recent happenings with
herself, Parker and a police officer, the Desperate Housewives acress was
booed by Pistons fans when she was shown on the overhead scoreboard during a recent Pistons-Spurs game. She somehow
thought it was a good idea to hold up Parker's ring for all to behold. It looks like life imitates art ... if you want
to call DH art, that is.
Early Christmas morning, Eva Longoria and her current boyfriend Tony Parker (he's a
point guard for the San Antonio Spurs) were pulled
over in Texas. Except they weren't really driving... they were already parked. A bicycle cop saw them and claimed
they were getting in the way of traffic, but they didn't move. So he beat the hood of the car a few times until he got
Parker's attention. Parker, who was behind the wheel, gave the officer a French driver's license after he tried to
drive away and almost hit a pedestrian. The cop wrote a ticket, and he claimed that Longoria yelled at him, "He's
just a Mexican bike cop. He only wants your autograph." She has since denied that she said that. Great way to
spend Christmas morning.
