A lot of people don't understand this, but even though we write for a television web site and watch tons of television every single day, we can't keep track of everything or watch everything. There are many shows that I realize are on my television but simply don't watch (Grey's Anatomy, CSI, The Bachelor, Maury), and there are a few that I don't watch because I had no idea they were still on. Below are five such shows that I recently found out were still going strong (OK, five are still going strong, one is an old show that I didn't realize was being shown nowadays).
The People's Court: I used to watch this every single day when I was younger (the show's legal expert, Harvey Levin, now runs TMZ.com). That was when a real-life courtroom show was unique, before there were 27 of them on TV every single day. I knew that Judge Judy was still on, and shows with other various judges (Judge Hackett, Divorce Court, Judge Mathis, Judge Maria Lopez, Judge David Young, Christina's Court), but I didn't know this one was still on. It can't be the same without Judge Wapner and baliff Rusty though.

24 star Kiefer Sutherland was arrested last night in Los Angeles for drunk driving, TMZ.com is reporting.
The field sobriety test given to Sutherland showed the star was two times over the state limit of .08. Too bad he wasn't three times over, that would have been 24 and would have been great promotion for the show, though the show doesn't start up again for a few more months so that probably wouldn't have been great strategy.
Sutherland probably would have been OK but he made an illegal U-turn. He was released a few hours after the arrest after posting $25,000 bail. If convicted he could serve at least five days in jail. This is his second offense in three years.

I'm not at all amazed that another week brings another controversy to The View, but I am a little surprised at who is involved this time.
Singer Barry Manilow has refused to appear on the show today because he didn't want to be interviewed by Elizabeth Hasselbeck. At first I thought this was one of those "taken out of context" things, but Manilow himself told TMZ.com: "I strongly disagree with her views. I think she's dangerous and offensive. I will not be on the same stage as her." He explains more on his site.
It's a little odd because he actually was on the same stage with her more than once the past few years. Maybe he sided with Rosie in the Daytime Talk Show Wars (TM). I'm sure the gals on the show will be talking about this today and tomorrow. And all you readers can begin leaving your many comments below right about....now.

This is one of the funniest videos I've seen all week, second only to the video of Miss Teen and her educational policy. It's Andy Dick outside of a nightclub, confronting a TMZ photographer.
It's not funny in one way, because Dick is obviously, um, a little out of it. But the funny parts are 1. Dick is wearing a dress shirt, tie, and shorts, and 2. Dick's "attack" is rather lighthearted, even if he does shove the camera (the cameraman jokes with Dick throughout the entire thing and gets off some funny lines). A random woman on the street shouts encouragement to Andy too.
The best part is he chases the TMZ guy a couple of blocks, and as an added bonus we get an accidental tour of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

OK, so the show isn't coming back, that's no reason to go out and get drunk.
Austin Nichols, who played the mysterious (was he still mysterious at the end? I stopped watching after three episodes) John on HBO's John From Cincinnati, was arrested in Jackson, MI at 2:30am for driving under the influence. According to TMZ.com, he was driving the wrong way down a one way street, was stopped by police who gave him a breathalyzer test after smelling alcohol, and brought to the police station.
The best part of this story is the mug shot. I mean, look at him. Doesn't he just look really John From Cincinnati-ish?

I just got back from doing my weekly grocery shopping. It took me almost an hour and a half because of the people at the grocery store and the traffic. That's about the amount of time that Nicole Richie stayed in jail today.
The official time was 82 minutes. Seems that's all the time she had to do, apparently. Although she was sentenced to 96 hours in jail but got out rather, um, quickly, "based on her sentence and federal guidelines." Richie was sent to jail for DUI and...well, it's hard to remember what she did and what Paris did and what Lindsay did and what Britney has done.
So what did they do, just give her a tour of the jail and then release her? Did they just strip search her and do her paperwork and then it was time to leave? Did she get a meal or at least a snack in that 82 minutes?

Once upon a time there were three little girls who were in trouble with the police
Two in Los Angeles, and one in Glendale
And they were each assigned very hazardous duty
Such as drinking and driving and having sex on video
But I took them away from all that, and now they work for me...
My name is Harvey
This is what Nicole, Paris, and Lindsay should do, go to work for TMZ.com! They're in there so much anyway that they should probably start being paid. Just think: they could go undercover in night clubs to find out what other celebs are doing, wear secret mini cameras in the SCRAM bracelets, show up at parties and openings and appear "drunk" when they're really on assignment for TMZ. It's the perfect cover! Seemingly screwed up celebrities reporting on real screwed up celebrities. It would also give them something to do than just partying.
Where does Britney fit into all of this? Well, when one of the original Angels leaves the job or goes to jail, she can take over. Like Tanya Roberts. After the jump, the opening for Charlie's Angels. Imagine Nicole, Paris, and Lindsay in those roles. I'm not sure who would have the Bosley role in all this. Suggestions?

I don't know what's sadder, the fact that two C-list stars are starring in their own reality show in another bid for attention, or the fact that this reality show (The Two Coreys, which starts July 29) is being aired on A&E. Where is the "arts?" Where is the "entertainment?"
It's not even good in a "this is so bad it's good" way, because I don't believe much of what will happen if the rest of it is like this video over at TMZ. It shows Haim arguing with Feldman's wife, using the F word about 70 times, and then going over the line to the point where Feldman threatens to punch his head in. The acting is right up there with...well, Haim and Feldman's last film, whatever that was.
Remember The Lost Boys? That was a great flick.

Did you see Paris Hilton on Larry King Live last night? Here's the transcript. Jeez, she really did nothing to help her cause, eh? She seems honestly, sincerely, and deeply clueless. And as a guy, I don't even find her hot or appealing. She has the personality of a wicker chair. I found all of her talk about wanting to help people and learning her lesson and "reading the Bible" completely unconvincing.
After the jump is a roundup of what the internet is saying today about her appearance.

In case you haven't heard, Paris Hilton gets out of jail today. Expect so much coverage on MSNBC, CNN, and FOX News that you'll want to stick pencils in your eyes. But there are people interested in her release, so here's a quick guide:
L.A. braces itself for her release. Our own TMZ will have non-stop coverage (and will probably break all the news before anyone else). Her car was repossessed while she was in prison (anything to keep her off the roads, I say). You can buy Hilton's trash on ebay. And who was Hilton's final visitor at the prison last night? Jericho star Ashley Scott.
And don't forget she'll be on Larry King Live tomorrow night at 9 to talk about her new post-jail life trying to save orphans and dolphins.

The "big house," that is!
Hilton checked into the beautiful turned herself into authorities last night and began her 23 day stay in jail. TMZ.com has the video of Paris and her teary mom arriving in their car. She actually surrendered miles away from Lynwood, where she will be doing her time. She'll be in a cell and have a shower and phone to use. There will also be a small pod attached to her cell where she can watch TV (a small pod to watch TV? What, is she Michael Jackson?). She says she's ready to face the consequences and learn from her mistakes (*cough*).
By the way, the photo? That's not a publicity photo, it's Paris' mug shot. (Update: the police released the wrong photo.)
In honor of her first day, check out GSN's The Prison Life game. And after the jump, a video of Sarah Silverman joking about Paris at the MTV Movie Awards, with Paris in the audience.

I'm sure everyone has already seen the horrifying video of Rosie and Elisabeth going at each other on The View. Now comes word that Rosie won't be coming back on Tuesday to finish the remaining three weeks of her contract.
O'Donnell took Thursday off to celebrate the birthday of her partner Kelli, and today's episode was taped before the battle. O'Donnell posted a video montage of her time on the show on her blog, and it's probably no secret that it's titled "True Colors."
No word from Donald Trump yet, but I'm sure he'll be talking about his "victory" on the gossip shows this evening.

Looking for that special last minute Mother's Day gift? Nothing says Mother's Day like the death certificates of your favorite TV star!
Someone is selling the death certificates and wills of Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley on ebay. These aren't just one page descriptions of the date and manner of death, they are the actual detailed wills that they wrote before they died. Lucy didn't want to be embalmed and wanted to make sure her brother Fred and his wife didn't get anything. Desi made sure his mom was cared for. Vance left most of her estate to her much younger husband, and Frawley's will has a lot of bills and notes from creditors attached. It's probably interesting reading, but creepy.
For more background on the stars, here are the Wikipedia pages for Ball, Arnaz, Vance, and Frawley. Vance and Frawley hated each other.
