Last week U2 was on
The Late Show with David Letterman for five straight nights to promote their new album, and now another rock icon is going on Leno to promote his new albums.
Prince (so glad I don't have to find some way to type that funny symbol thing he went as for a few years)
will perform on Jay Leno's show for four nights, March 25 to 27 and then again on May 28. The appearances are to promote his two (yes, two) new albums,
Lotus Flower and
MPLSound, which will be released on May 29 in Target stores only. Leno's last show is that same night. Conan O'Brien takes over on June 1.
Prince sent out a special e-mail to fans on his mailing list and you can read it at the link above. Lots of uses of the number "2" for "two" and "to" as well as the number "4" for "four" and "for." I think Prince invented text messaging.

This year, Target is selling
these boxes of Valentine's Day cards from
Grey's Anatomy and
Desperate Housewives.
The Desperate Housewives ones, in particular, are really bad. The jokes just aren't clever. For example, one card has a picture of all the characters in a laundromat and says, "It's Valentine's Day and you're HOT!" ... "Enough laundry already! Go have some fun!" The
Grey's Anatomy ones are slightly better. The most depressing/funny one has a picture of Meredith and Cristina on the front with a message that says: "Not my idea of a perfect Valentine's Day"... "But at least we have each other." How sad! The writers avoided any references to surgery and hearts. Opportunity missed, I say!
There is supposedly a box of valentines based on
The Office, too.
This website has a photo and description, but the link to Target is broken and I can't find it on the site. If they do exist, they sound pretty awesome.
One directly quotes Dwight about love. It says, "Women are like wolves. If you want a wolf, you have to trap it. You have to snare it. And then you have to tame it. Keep it happy. Care for it. Feed it. Lovingly, the way an animal deserves to be loved. And my animal deserves a lot of loving." (Update: It doesn't actually have that quote. But it's still funny.) Now that's my kind of Valentine's Day!

I don't know about you, but I am very picky about which television series I own on DVD. I don't often want to sit down and watch old episodes of shows unless they truly are spectacular and worthy of multiple watchings. For me, that means Firefly and Arrested Development are must-owns. But, I've also included some others on this list that have some great extras for the fans who would like a little bit more:
The Office Season two of
The Office on DVD is quite good. While the season was spectacular, it's the extras that make the purchase necessary. It includes deleted scenes (some of which are hilarious and some are pretty obvious why they were deleted) and a gag reel, which is always essential for a quality DVD-watching experience. Plus, it includes all the extras that the cast did, such as their fake PSAs and NBC.com webisodes. And, there's swag: a Dunder-Mifflin folder, pad of paper, pen and post-its.There are also different versions depending on whether you buy it from Best Buy, Target, or Amazon. Cost: $25.
