Joel Cheatwood, who helped develop programming at Headline News such as Showbiz Tonight and Glenn Beck and oversaw CNN's highest-rated series, Nancy Grace, is heading to Fox News to develop programming for both the news network and the upcoming Fox Business Channel.
According to Variety, Cheatwood has been tapped for Fox News because of his "tabloid sensibility" that he developed while working on local news in Miami, where he often led with crime stories in order to grab the attention of viewers. According to Cheatwood, news can be both "top-notch" and "fun to watch." Cheatwood used that approach to revamp Headline News, and hopes to do the same when Fox Business Channel launches.

If you live in New York, you may think that the New York Post is officially off its rocker. Today's cover resembles an extreme tabloid, ala The National Enquirer. It's covered with stories about freaks of nature that are on the Pentagon payroll... but it's all fake. Comedy Central bought fake covers to advertise David Cross' new animated series, Freak Show. The previews for the show make it look like it's a band of freaks who try to be superheroes. Comedy Central is also distributing more than one million copies of a Freak Show comic book written by Cross and co-creator H. Jon Benjamin (the comic is also 
Every time I write about a new reality show, a part of me dies. Literally, a body part shrivels up, falls off, hits the carpet in a cloud of dust, and is immediately sucked into my Roomba vac. This post is actually being written by half-a-head on a torso. That being said, Gregory Gittrich, who is deputy metropolitan editor of the Daily News, claims the new six-part program from Bravo about the inner workings of his newspaper is not your typical reality show, so I just might give it a chance. The series will follow reporters as they try to get the scoop before the New York Post does, and the daily problems they face trying to get the story.Gittrich further asserts that the show should debunk certain myths about all tabloids being sleazy super market rags. Tabloid Wars premieres Monday on Bravo at 9 p.m.

The British won't get to see the infamous episode of
South Park, which outted Tom Cruise something like 13 times in 22 minutes. Cruise, who has a crazy fear about
people thinking he's gay, complained about the episode to Paramount and the production company agreed not to play it
again. According to The Register in the U.K., Paramount got worried that Cruise would sue them, as he has sued so many
tabloids in the past whenever they 'out' him.
I saw the episode of Chaotic where Britney talked
about having sex with Kevin, made out with Kevin, and got drunk with Kevin. So, Kevin and Britney making a sex tape
doesn't sound that far-fetched to me. It didn't sound far-fetched to US Weekly, either, when it printed the story,
Brit & Kev: Secret Sex Tape? New parents have a new worry: racy footage from 2004. The story cited a
reliable source, saying that some of Britney's entourage threatened to release the tape to the public. It said Brit and
K-Fed told their lawyers about the threat and even watched the tape with their lawyers. Britney is suing US Weekly,
which ran the story in October. She says there's no X-rated tape, no threat, and no viewing with lawyers, y'all!
Britney and K-Fed filed a $10 million lawsuit in Los Angeles this week. Her lawyer says she finally filed a lawsuit
against the tabloid because she's fed up with all the false stories it prints about her.
