This Heroes spoiler makes no sense at all

HeroesRecently we told you about the major death that was happening on Heroes this season. The only clues we were told were that it was one of the original characters from the first season and it was a male. Well, it looks like the actor has been named, and if it's true then it doesn't make any sense at all.

Full details after the jump...

NBC wants to know how Heroes will end

HeroesSources are telling Airlock Alpha that NBC is asking Heroes producers and writers to come up with a finale for the show.

I think we all saw this coming. Ratings for the show have continued to slip since that magical first season, and I think the network (and many fans) have gotten sick of the "this season will be different!" promises.

Actually, I think the show has been good this season. Oh, the first couple of episodes meandered and were rather frustrating (Hiro time traveling again? Sylar wandering around again? Matt seeing visions?), but since they've shown how Samuel is involved in the Claire plotline and in the HRG plotline and Zachary Quinto is back full time, it has come together more.

TV Squad Ten: TV's biggest rule breakers

patrick_jane_cbs
Rules are meant to be broken... especially for these ten television characters. For them, the rest of the world has one standard to live by and they have another. It makes them interesting and fun to watch... you just wouldn't necessarily want to be the person having to deal with them because they could drive you to distraction. Here's my ten pack of characters who live in a world of their own, according to no rules except their own. From the not-too-bad to the really bad.

10. Patrick Jane, The Mentalist

You would think that as a consultant to the CBI -- California Bureau of Investigation -- Patrick Jane would be compelled to uphold the rules and regulations of the department. However, Jane is a free spirit when it comes to office protocol. He does his own thing. For instance, bugging the office of a CBI higher-up is definitely not kosher. Jane doesn't care; he did it anyway and will probably get away with it.

A major death is coming to Heroes - who will it be?

HeroesKristin over at E! is reporting that a "major death" is coming to Heroes, probably to boost ratings (good luck with that). All he'll say is that the character is male and it's a member of the original cast.

That's actually a lot of info. Who do you think it will be? (I'm assuming it's not Nathan, for obvious reasons.)

Who is going to die on Heroes?

Heroes was just kinda so-so last season, says NBC

Everyone has an opinion about how Heroes has been the last couple of seasons. Even NBC. In the new promo for the show (two-hour season premiere on September 21), it seems that even the network knows it could be better. The clip is titled "Back At Their Best," Noah says the lines "you have to remember who you were" and "maybe we're looking for redemption," Tracey says "I'm back," the words NEW BEGINNING appear on a wall, and the song that plays in the background is "Second Chance."

Heroes fans who think the show has gone downhill would probably say this is the third or fourth chance, but we get the point, we get the point.

Wanna hear Sylar swear a lot? (NSFW)

This clip from Funny or Die had me laughing out loud several times. It's called Hostage: A Love Story, and stars Heroes' Zachary Quinto as a guy trying to rob a restaurant. It really throws the whole "crazed gunman takes a hostage" story for a loop. You'll see the ending coming, but it's still a very effective short film.

By the way, the police were called twice during the filming of this because they thought Quinto was a real crook.

Sylar wants to save arcades

QuintoI know, I know, maybe I should have said "Mr. Spock wants to save arcades," but readers probably wouldn't know if I was talking about Leonard Nimoy or Zachary Quinto, so Sylar it is.

Quinto is trying to help Stride Gum with a special promotion to help raise money to save four old arcades. They've set up a web site where you can help too.

I didn't even realize that old school arcades were on the decline. Sure, I knew that home video game consoles are more popular than ever (I have a Playstation II and a Blu-ray player that plays games myself), but I thought they would still fill a niche for kids. Guess kids would rather stay at home or at their friend's home than go to an arcade. I remember when I was in my teens/early 20s I went to the arcade quite a bit. My game was Millipede.

Do people still bowl?

Actually, I think the new Heroes promo poster is kinda boring

HeroesI've read a few things online about this promo poster for the new season of Heroes (larger version here) and people seem to like it. Me? I find it kinda boring, unless they're changing the show completely and making it a new version of The Mod Squad.

It really says nothing about the new direction of the show, but the video after the jump is fun.

Here's another sneak peek at the new season of Heroes

Looks like NBC is really trying to relaunch Heroes. They have a whole new plot and series of characters (a weird carnival), and these videos seem to want us to get involved with the show again, and get to know the characters we love.

The Sylar and Claire videos give a good background/recap of the characters, but the "Heroes in Love" one doesn't really make sense (some characters aren't even on the show anymore, and the Matt/Daphne thing didn't really happen), but they're good promos. (Here's the trailer for season four.)

Here's a preview of Heroes, season four

Like a lot of Heroes fans, there's a lot I've liked about the show and a lot that has frustrated me. But damn if they don't have me coming back season after season.

Jason already told you about what's coming up in season 4 ("Redemption"), and now here's a trailer. Looks like a whole new group of people with powers will be introduced (a carnival, I believe), Claire is in college, Mrs. Petrelli is still being mysterious, Sylar looks like Nathan (except when others see him as Sylar), and (sigh) it still looks like Hiro is time-traveling. But they have me curious again.

Tim Kring offers spoilers for Heroes season four

quinto sylar heroes season four spoilersI'm eagerly anticipating Zachary Quinto's return to Heroes as Sylar after watching Star Trek. Now, producer Tim Kring is getting my hopes up for the show's fourth season, which he says will explore some classic and intriguing superhero themes.

Kring recently revealed some details about the show's upcoming plots and themes in his latest "Heroes All Access" newsletter. We have the scoop on what Claire, Peter, Nathan/Sylar and HRG will be up to when the show returns to NBC in the fall.

Subtle Subtitles: Heroes

Amy Poehler on Parks and RecIf you haven't seen our game before, we give you a picture from a recent episode of a TV series, and you provide the funny caption! Last week it was a picture from Parks and Recreation. Here's our winner, from reader Carl Winslow:

"See these muffins? In thirty minutes there will be another batch just like these, baked by the same people, except they'll be funnier ... I mean tastier."

This week, a scene from the season finale of Heroes!

Star Trek: The Lost Generation (same actor, wrong toy!)

I love stuff like this. The Fine Brothers have created another clever Lost parody, Star Trek: The Lost Generation. It's a celebration of Lost and the new Star Trek film. The crew of the Enterprise somehow gets stuck on the Lost island and not only have to deal with Jack and Sawyer and Locke but also different versions (different doll versions) of themselves. There's an appearance by a few other time-travelling pop culture figures too.

Heroes: An Invisible Thread (season finale) -- An early look

Heroes - An Invisible ThreadAfter watching the penultimate episode of "Volume Four: Fugitives" on NBC's Heroes last week, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when a dashing young man in a FedEx uniform delivered a surprise package to my doorstep later in the week. Inside was a rough cut of "An Invisible Thread," the season finale of Heroes. Now this wasn't nearly as rough as the X-Men Origins: Wolverine debacle floating around the interwebs, but neither was it the completely polished version we'll see this upcoming Monday at 9:00 PM ET.

Overall, I found myself a little disappointed as I've been with every volume finale we've had since the very beginning. And admittedly, I might just be wanting something a little bit more than what we're able to get here. As for deaths and new beginnings, those we do get. I'll tell you this: one person who I felt certain was going to die didn't. One person who I thought as a possibility to die did ... but sort of didn't. But really did. The only hint I'll give you is Marvel's first Exiles series.
