Did you know a person can be funny on television and the internet? It's true. Here's a few examples:

First, comedians Jim Norton (Lucky Louie, Tough Crowd) and Jim Florentine (Crank Yankers, Meet the Creeps) have a new series on Super Deluxe where they give super-brief commentaries on current events. The clips are not safe for work, or for most living creatures, but if you don't mind crude humor and lots of cussing, then check it out.

Last year, I mentioned a site called RejectedJokes in which comedy writer Ben Schwartz performed all the jokes he wrote that were rejected by the likes of Letterman and SNL's Weekend Update (he's a freelancer for both).

Ben's latest gig is creating videos for the Web site Super Deluxe. Below is a video he made featuring Rob Riggle (The Daily Show) as the coach for the Washington Colonels, a basketball team that has lost 125 matches in a row. Could it be that Riggle's team is that bad, or is it because their rival, the Bronx World Travelers, always bring things like stools and mini trampolines onto the court?

Okay, so last month I told you Bob Odenkirk was creating a series for the comedy Website Super Deluxe called "Derek and Simon: The Show." I probably don't have to remind you since I assume you write down everything I tell you on this blog and carry it around in a briefcase everywhere you go, just in case someone asks you about it.

Quite honestly, I was underwhelmed by it. I was hoping for something more from the man who helped bring us Mr. Show, Tom Goes to the Mayor and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job. I could see the punchline coming from a mile away, which is never a good sign. Perhaps subsequent episodes will be better.

The Web series will run for a total of twelve episodes.

If you don't know who H. Jon Benjamin is, let me inform you: he's a writer and comedian most of us probably first saw when he played "Ben" on Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist. He was also a writer on that show and would later show up on Home Movies (one of my top five favorite series of all time), and the recent short-lived animated series Freak Show for Comedy Central.

In an interview with Gothamist, Benjamin revealed he was working on a new Web series for Super Deluxe called "Thunderpoint." What the series is exactly remains to be seen, but if Benjamin is behind it, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it'll be damn funny.

Bob Odenkirk, the writer and comedian who can currently be seen on Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and whose past credits include The Ben Stiller Show, The Larry Sanders Show and Mr. Show (he must like shows that end in "show") is developing a series for the comedy Web site Super Deluxe called Derek and Simon: The Show (see what I mean about the whole "show" thing).

Turner Broadcasting will be unveiling a new broadband comedy site in January called Super Deluxe. I don't know why they didn't give it a more comedic name, since "Super Deluxe" sounds like some kind of sandwich, but there you go. The new site, according to a press release, will feature both new and established comic talent and is meant to provide a place for comedians to develop and broadcast new ideas to the online audience. This will include short films, sketches and original online series. The site will also feature tools that allow users to upload their own content and communicate with the comedians in an open forum.

I guess we'll have to wait until January to see if this delivers anything worthwhile, but I will say I think it sounds like a cool idea, a kind of combination of YouTube and Comedy Central's Motherload. Then again, everything this new site offers can pretty much be done on YouTube, and already has. The key to standing out might be in developing a "community" that rivals that of YouTube's.
