Who's ready for a Sugar Ray reunion? Anybody? Hello?

Well, ready or not, you're going to get one. Mark McGrath, the Sugar Ray frontman-turned-entertainment-reporter is leaving Extra. Some reports say he's been fired, but The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that he really just wanted to get back to the band.

McGrath has been on hiatus from Sugar Ray for the past three years as he hosted Extra, but now the band is heading back to the studio and Mario Lopez is stepping up to take his spot behind the anchor desk. Lopez's much lauded muscles are apparently too big to share the stage, though. McGrath's co-host, Dayna Devon, has been demoted to Special Correspondent and backup host for Lopez.

I will always look at Lopez as A.C. Slater, so the idea of him becoming a "journalist" kind of makes me laugh. But then again, it's not like Mark McGrath was exactly the second coming of Cronkite. Besides, anyone who could stand 6 inches away from Miss Teen South Carolina as she rambled on about "The Iraq" without completely losing it obviously has some talent.

About two years ago The Contender, the Mark Burnett-produced boxing competitive reality show, moved from NBC to ESPN. After the second season on the popular sports network and the UK vs. USA challenge this spring, it was still up in the air whether the show would continue. Luckily, for those fans of boxing out there, ESPN has ordered up a third season of the show.

The premiere is actually coming up very soon: Sept. 4. So you won't have to wait too long if you are ready to see some amateur meat machines bash the snot out of each other.

(S01E02) As I watched this week's episode, I could only think one thing...thank goodness there are only nine finalists, cause I really can't take much more of this show, in fact, in deference to the people who like this show (both of them) this is going to be my last review.

The first big event of the show is when the girls move into their new house. After the required fifteen minutes of screaming and running with their hands in their air, they finally choose their beds. Was I the only one aroused by the girl who licked her pillow?

(S01E01) Are you the only person on earth who isn't sick of the song "Don't Cha?" Well, you're in luck. You can hear it over and over again on the newest reality show from the CW.

Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll is the perfect show to audition for if you are too slutty for American Idol, too untalented for America's Next Top Model and too stupid for The Apprentice.

You may remember the host of the show, Mark McGrath as the lead singer of the band Sugar Ray. Personally, I have a hard time respecting someone who quits being one of the handsomest lead singers around to become a poor man's Chris Harrison.

Also, on hand, is the founder of the Dolls herself, Robin Antin. For you Blow Out fans, Robin is Jonathan Antin's more masculine sister. In the opening, Robin says the Pussycat Dolls are "always evolving." Sadly, that statement does not apply to Robin herself.

ESPN has a winner for The Contender. If you can't wait, the answer is after the jump. But if you have a moment, I have a couple thoughts on the show. They made some big changes for this new season. First and foremost, Sly was nowhere to be found. Sugar Ray Leonard took over all the hosting duties. And that wasn't a good thing. Ray is a good guy, and a hell of a fighter, but as a host, he leaves much to be desired.

On top of that, the format of the show changed. Before, each week there was a competition. The winning team got to pick the fight for the week. This season, the team of the winner from the previous fight picked the next one. That left a big chunk of time to fill in each episode. That wasn't automatically bad, but the way they chose to fill it wasn't the best. From the episodes I saw, which was probably three quarters of them, more often than not a lot of that time went to showing us the same story for each fighter. Doing it for his family. Rough past. Orchestral music swelling. It got a little tedious.
