You know the old saying, "looking good is the best revenge?" Well, looking good on television is even better. To that end,
Nina Garcia, the acid-tongued Colombian judge on
Project Runway, is appearing on a new reality show.
Garcia will be starring on Style Network's new series, Running in Heels.
Heels follows the staff at women's magazine
Marie Claire, which Garcia joined a short while ago after leaving her long-time position at
Elle magazine.
Garcia's split from
Elle was allegedly not on the best terms, so it's probably extra sweet for her that
Running in Heels is a direct competitor to CW's
Stylista; a reality competition show taking place at, you guessed it --
Elle magazine.

No doubt envious of all the buzz
The Soup is getting, E!'s sister channel, Style Network, is planning their own version. Premiering August 16th,
The Dish will cover more topics than The Soup including TV, celebrities, fashion and beauty. Here's the kicker though:
The Dish is set to be hosted by Topanga herself,
Boy Meets World's
Danielle Fishel.
Style executive VP Salaam Coleman sums up
The Dish's appeal, saying, "What's great about
The Dish is that it takes a not-so-serious look at the often very serious world of fashion and finds the comedy in celebrity lifestyle." Well yes, that would be great--in theory.
The problem is, this is a type of show that is very difficult to do well. You need a strong group of writers and a charismatic host. While
The Soup may be the toast of the town now, it kind of sucked when it first aired. While two of
The Soup's executive producers are behind
The Dish, I'm not sure if Danielle is going to quite have the "pop" that this show is going to need.

The Style Network is taking on obesity issues with its newest reality series. The channel behind reality shows like
Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane just
ordered episodes of a new series called Ruby.
Ruby will tell the story of Ruby Gettinger, an obese woman from Georgia, as she attempts to lose weight. Gettinger weighs five hundred pounds and is under doctor's orders to lose a significant amount of weight.
Actress Brittany Daniel, a personal friend of Gettinger's, will act as the show's consulting executive producer. She is also going to appear on the show occasionally. Style has ordered nine episodes of
Ruby, a one-hour premiere and eight half-hour episodes. The reality series will air this fall.

Kimora Lee Simmons, wife of Russell Simmons and CEO of the Baby Phat clothing line, is getting her own reality series on the Style Network. The series, which has the working title Kimora, will premiere sometime this summer.
Kimora started out as a fashion model in her early teens, later married Russell Simmons, and in 2004 was co-host of Life and Style on UPN. She has also appeared in the films Rebound and Beauty Shop, and was a judge on America's Next Top Model.
The new series will follow Kimora through her daily routine of raising her family and running her business, and, as this press release states, will "open a lot of women's eyes to the possibilities life has to offer," especially if you happen to be a teenage model who catches the eye of a multi-millionaire almost two decades older than you. It's the kind of success story that can only be obtained through sheer tenacity and borderline pedophilia. It's almost Disneyesque, this modern fairy tale.
