Chuck: Chuck Versus Santa Claus

Chuck Xmas(S02E11) "This store has a very strict 'no bravery' policy." Chuck to Ned, gun-toting lunatic

Were you expecting a cameo by Bruce Willis on Chuck tonight? I was. The moment I saw Reginald VelJohnson in cop blues as Al, I just expected that John McClane might turn up at the Buy More looking to buy an iPod for his daughter or maybe a toaster for ex-wife Holly.

Yes, the connection to Die Hard was a major theme, especially with the Buy More staff (and Chuck's family) being held hostage by Ned, a supposed down-on-his-luck schlub who ends a high speed chase through L.A. by driving his compact through the entrance of the store.

Final episodes of Drive to go online Monday

driveFox has announced that the final two episodes of Drive will be on the show's MySpace page starting on Monday, July 16th. The network had originally scheduled those episodes for air on July 4th, then bumped them to July 13th, then flat-out took them off the schedule, much to the frustration of the few surviving fans of Drive.

After you watch the last two episodes, which will likely not provide any sort of closure, check out this post from Isabelle detailing what the producers wanted to happen to the story if the series had lived on. Unfortunately, the producers don't say who would've won... maybe even they didn't know yet.

Fox takes Drive off the schedule... again

drive
Sorry, Drive fans. It doesn't look good. After promising that it would air the final two episodes of Drive on July 4th, Fox rescheduled them for this Friday, July 13th.

Well, guess what?

They're off the schedule... again. I just spoke to a Fox spokesperson who confirms that they've been pulled (in favor of Bones and Standoff) and he doesn't have any explanation for the change. He also told me that the final two episodes of Drive have not been rescheduled at this point and he doesn't know if they ever will be.

At this point, they should at least put the final two episodes online.

Standoff returns on Friday

ron livingston; rosemarie dewitt; standoffHey! Do you guys remember Standoff? It had great actors like Ron Livingston and Gina Torres... it just got kind-of stale after, oh, two episodes. Fox is burning off the remaining 9 episodes of the procedural drama starting this Friday. The show was officially canceled on May 17th when Fox announced its Upfronts schedule for next fall.

The actors from the series have already moved on to other projects. Gina Torres, for example, is preparing for motherhood. She and husband Laurence Fishburne are expecting their first child any day now. And Ron Livingston is currently on stage in the off-Broadway play, In A Dark Dark House, and is still the spokesperson for Sprint Nextel.

Standoff resumes Friday, June 8 at 9 pm on Fox.

Here's a list of shows that might not come back this fall

JerichoFor those are you who worry a lot and get all nervous, you might want to skip this story.

Variety has a list of the TV shows that are "on the bubble," the ones that are teetering on the edge of cancellation and might not make it to fall '07. The list includes a few shows that I thought were actually doing well, and that scares me a bit (and ticks me off).

ABC: The Nine and Knights of Prosperity are probably gone, and What About Brian is on the edge too, despite getting a second life a few months ago.

FOX shakes up lineup to make room for new shows - TCA Report

Fox logoFOX really does it up for TCA: there was a Hell's Kitchen omelette breakfast, and the entire ballroom was done up in silver tablecloths and silver chairs. The pages wore parkas, I guess playing up the "winter" theme, despite the fact we're in semi-warm Pasadena.
