Two Missouri brothers are suing FOX and
Prison Break creator Paul Sheuring,
saying they stole the idea for the hit show.
Robert Hughes was sent to prison in the 1960s for a crime he didn't commit, and older brother Donald helped him escape. On the surface this may not seem like much, but add on to the fact that they had their agent send FOX a script in 2001 about their experiences. The network wasn't interested, but then
Prison Break debuted in 2005.
Robert Hughes makes an interesting point that, if they were to try and sell their story now, it would look like they were copying the show.
Whatever the outcome, their story actually sounds really interesting. They were on the run for four years, working various jobs around the country and staying one step ahead of the police.

The first season of Prison Break comes out on DVD tomorrow, and if you're planning on buying the set, you might just want to do it at either Target or Best Buy. Both will have exclusive bonus DVDs.
If you buy it at Target, you'll also get a bonus DVD, which will have a "Behind The Scenes" featurette (including a look at the first season wrap party!). If you buy it at Best Buy, there's an even cooler (well, sounds cooler anyway) bonus DVD: it will features all 26 2 minute mobile phone episodes! Sounds like a good deal to me, especially if you can get all those shorts on one handy DVD.

Mystery writer Mickey Spillane
has died in Murrell's Inlet, South Carolina.
Spillane was the creator of tough guy private eye Mike Hammer, played on television by Darren McGavin in the 1950s and by Stacey Keach in the 1980s and 90s.
A lot of people look down on Spillane's Hammer novels, saying they are just cheap, blunt pulp novels full of sex and violence. And to that I say "hell yeah!" Spillane was an underrated writer. He also starred in a famous series of commercials for Miller Beer, and appeared in many of the Mike Hammer movies and on
Columbo and other shows.

Is ABC trying to freak out their audience? I just saw a preview for their May Sweeps flick
Fatal Contact: Bird Flu In America. Jeez, people shaking hands and getting sick, millions dead, the military called in, the President making a dire annoucement. Sure, it's all possible, but I just get this sick feeling that ABC is trying to scare us. Avian Flu plus May Sweeps = ratings gold!
I just hope the movie is a little bit more responsible than what I've seen in the previews. I mean, what about the kids watching? What about the health care professionals? And for God's sake,
What About Brian?
