"You need a therapist, not an assistant." -- Prospective assistant to Tiffany "New York" Pollard
Truer words were never spoken. VH1 has posted a
sneak peek of their new show New York Goes to Hollywood. The show, which premieres tonight at 10 PM, will follow VH1's reality queen on her journey to become a serious actress. In the series premiere New York hires an assistant, does a bootcamp workout, gets a clip reel together, and performs at a small theatre in front of high-powered managers.
By "high-powered," I mean managers who are friends with executive producers Cris Abrego and Mark Kronin.
Or by "high-powered," I mean people VH1 hired to sit in the audience, watch New York perform, and pretend to be managers.
I think the best part is getting to see her read a monologue. She a maid who just wants to catch her 6:30 bus home and not go outside and pick up dog doodoo.
The video is after the jump.

I'm sure that someone, somewhere is annoyed that, with the release of the new
Knight Rider, NBC is completely ignoring the
Knight Rider continuity established in
Knight Rider 2000 and
Knight Rider 2010. If you're that person, I'd highly suggest a) not following the link and b) finding the help you so desperately need.
For the rest of us, enjoy
this teaser trailer for the new Knight Rider series. There's not much to be gleaned from it except the obvious: KITT is no longer a TransAM, but rather a Ford Mustang. The other big news that might come as a shocker (
Spoiler Warning): it's no longer
Michael driving KITT, it's
Mike. That's right,
Knight Rider, welcome to the name-shortening 21st century!
There are other questions that we can only guess at until the show premiers in February...

Hey, animation fans, John Kricfalusi has posted some clips from the
upcoming DVD release
of
Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon on his blog. The set is actually being called "The Lost
Episodes" and will contain cartoons from the short-lived SpikeTV series which brought Ren and Stimpy out of the
confines of children's animation and into a more ribald setting. Essentially, once the duo was re-imagined for SpikeTV
very little remained of their Nickelodeon days. This was either a welcome change or utter blasphemy, depending on
your stance as a fan. Personally, while I enjoyed the original
Ren and Stimpy, I loved seeing them brought
back, even if it wasn't quite the same as before. Besides, I've never seen an animation studio push the boundaries
of TV cartoons the way Spumco does. See the clips
here.
