(S04E25) The biggest talent search in the world started its competition
three months ago. After a summer of questionable judges decisions, talent performances and Hoff-isms, it's time to crown the winner of the show's fourth season.
But before the
America's Got Talent winner can be announced in the live season finale to air on Wednesday,
featuring a guest appearance by Susan Boyle, the Top 10 acts needed to perform one last time for America's votes. My comments and predictions coming up!

(S04E22) It's time to narrow down the talent field to the Top 8 acts who will perform in the final round of this season's
America's Got Talent. They'll get the chance to win a million, as well as perform on the Vegas Strip in
a special show hosted by ex-AGT host Jerry Springer.
This week's results show featured a special performance from The Hoff himself. Did he give a performance worthy to be Xed, or did he deliver the goods? My two cents, as well as which first four acts are moving to the final round coming up!

Paula Abdul needs some career advice. In the wake of her departure from
American Idol, the sometime choreographer/occasional singer and QVC pitch woman has been rumored to be doing all kinds of TV projects. Most have turned out to be rumors and nothing more, but in an interview with
TV Guide, Paula said there is a TV dream she covets.
Paula Abdul would like to host a TV talk show.
I can't imagine a worse TV vehicle for Paula, especially the kind of talk show she envisions. She said, "It would be a lot of fun variety with a ton of unexpected stuff and tributes to everyday people getting their big chance."
That sounds perfectly cloying, especially if you assume that Paula will be pretty much herself, pretty much like she was on
American Idol, which was uncritical, sweet, gentle and pleasantly unfocused.

(S04E21) "We're getting down to the wire." - The HoffThis week's performers needed to up their games big time because some of them did not impress viewers that much in the past four weeks when each performed for a place in the
Top 20. And, as The Hoff pointed, we're getting down to the wire and will soon crown the season four winner of
America's Got Talent.
The first ten acts to show their talent in the semi-finals are from performance shows
one and
two of the Top 48. This way of breaking the acts allows diversity as we were treated to dance, acrobatics, singing, canine tricks, comedy and magic.
Do we have a potential winner amongst tonight's performances? Did the
judges Piers X anyone? Comments and Top 8 -- yes, you read correctly no Top 10 -- predictions coming up!

(S04E20) "I think the talent this year is "Hoff" the charts." - The HoffThe Hoff must not be watching the same show we are, eh? Because the talent is definitely not off the charts. Yes, there are some very good acts but compared to previous seasons, this year's Top 48 was rather poor in talent.
The last Top 48 acts performed earlier this week and now came the time to reveal who would fill the remaining five spots in the Top 20. Except for three or four acts, this week's performance show was so-so, making it difficult to predict how America would vote.
Did your favorite acts make it to the Top 20? Results coming up!

(S04E19) A few of you told me that I was wrong by claiming that
last week's performance show was electrifying. I agree with you that we have seen much better performance shows in the past. However, when you compare the third performance show of the season with the two previous, you have to admit that it was the most electrifying.
Save for a few of tonight's acts, such as Ishaara and Barbara, the third performance show is still the best performance show we've had so far this season.
My comments on the fourth performance show and my predictions coming up!

(S04E18) "The most electrifying show yet!" - Nick, about last night's performance showNick is right. Last night was electrifying, even if a few acts got X'd. It was one of the best show's we've had so far this season.
As I noted in
my review of the performance episode, I expected Jeffrey Ou to lose some votes because viewers weren't able to hear him play the piano in the second part of his acts. But a few of our site visitors said they voted for him because he wasn't given a fair chance.
Will Jeffrey get another chance by moving on to the Top 20? Results coming up!

(S04E17) A lot of you sounded off in comments to my "
Results show two" post last week, either to complain about the judges putting through Tony Hoard and Rory over Charles, or to give your two cents about what the show should change when it returns next summer for a fifth season.
One thing is certain; most fans are not happy with how season four is going, and most are pointing fingers at the judges. Sharon and David especially seem to check their judgment at the door when it's time to make certain decisions, don't you agree?
This week, we were treated with the second to last Top 48 performance show of the "greatest talent competition on Earth,"
America's Got Talent. Most of the acts definitely delivered the goods tonight. Do you think America and the judges will pick the right five acts to move to the Top 20 this week? My comments about this week's performances coming up!

(S04E14) Last night, twelve acts battled it out for your votes. Who will make it through to the semi-finals? We found out the first five tonight.
But first, there was a big discussion about whether the last basket of Acrodunk actually went in last night. Piers said it didn't, and Sharon bet him $500 that it did. After the slo-mo replay, it was determined that it DID go in, and now Piers owes Sharon $500. Let's hope it goes to charity. Maybe a basketball camp for kids or something.
Nick introduced the acts, and I must say, there's quite a variety this season. I'm filling in for Isabelle on this review, and it's fun to see such a diverse group competing for the top prize.

What now for Paula Abdul? You have to wonder. The singer/dancer/choreographer has really been in her element -- if that's the right word -- as the sympathetic
American Idol judge. Since Paula Abdul tweeted last night that she
will not be returning to American Idol, you have to wonder if she's going to disappear into oblivion or find a new career to glom onto at this point in her life?
Oh yes, she still has her jewelry, so she'll be on the air on HSN. But you know that Bravo isn't welcoming her back for more of the reality train wreck that was
Hey, Paula.

(S04E13) "Tonight is opening night." - The HoffHere we go America, you now have control over
America's Got Talent. And just based on the comments
TV Squad readers left on my last three
AGT posts, it's clear that viewers were not happy with the Top 40 selection and that they hoped the Simon Cowell curve ball would allow them to rectify the list and bring fan favorite Kari, Ciana and/or Tallan into the mix.
Did Simon throw the curve ball we wanted? Did the first Top 40 performers deliver? My two cents, and yours via comments, coming up!

(S04E12)Based on
the comments you left on last night's review, a few of you decided to stop watching the show because the "Vegas Verdicts" process was too cruel. How can the judges tell people they are going to Vegas and not have them perform a second time before they are sent back home? How cruel is it to get performers' hopes up by telling them they are going to Vegas when, in fact, most of them will have done the trip just to hear that they weren't good enough? Why did the judges send talented people such as Kari, Ciana and Tallan home and keep acts such as the dominatrix yodeler? On a side note, we shouldn't put all the blame on the judges. I'm sure the producers are pulling a few strings.
Be truthful, even if you vouched you would never watch
America's Got Talent again, you couldn't help yourself from taking a peak at tonight's episode, eh? If you decided to not tune in to watch the last "Vegas Verdicts" cruel fest but still want to know what happened, here come the results!

(S04E10) "We've saved the best for last." - Nick about this being the last audition episodeThe last
America's Got Talent audition episode not only featured loads of good performances -- sadly, most shown in a quick montage -- but also
an interview with Britain's Got Talent's Susan Boyle. The "Susan Boyle - Daring to Dream" interview with Meredith Vieira depicted well Susan's path to fame and her life struggles, but I would have preferred to have seen Boyle perform live on the show during one of the performance episodes in August. Then the contestants could have interacted with someone who went very far in the competition and be inspired by her story, as well as show that everyday people who truly have talent can become stars.
Before we get to my two cents about tonight's performances, I wanted to point out that contestant
Shaunie, who performed a unique singing number in last night's episode, dropped by the comments section in
my review of Audition show 9 to share the link to
his YouTube channel so you can watch more of his talent.

(S04E09) "MySpace is delivering the weird, the wacky, the wonderful." - The HoffSo tonight we were treated with a round of
MySpace auditions.
As was the case last season, the MySpace episode doesn't bring anything special to the show, since the producers basically choose bad and good acts from performers who post videos of themselves performing on MySpace. Isn't the goal of the MySpace episode -- well, episode
s this year since tomorrow is also a MySpace one -- to show that talent can be discovered on the web? Therefore, producers should only select acts that have potential based on their MySpace page. No?
In any case, to learn more about the MySpace episodes, as well as be reminded of last year's
America's Got Talent MySpace episode, go to the
America's Got Talent MySpace page. So let's review what MySpace gave us tonight, shall we?

(S04E08) "They will let anybody on this show. Why?" - Nick after seeing a bad actHaven't you watched the show before, Nick? Didn't your agent tell you what the series was all about before you signed on the dotted line?
America's Got Talent is all about everyday people showcasing their talents. And, as it is the case for
American Idol, anyone and everyone can audition, meaning that the audition episodes will be filled with bad acts performed by people who should have stayed home.
Tonight's installment featured an excerpt of Mariah Carey's new music video for the song "Obsessed." The song is not too bad, but I miss "Vision of Love" Mariah with the bigger vocals and usage of her full and impressive voice range. The clip, even if we didn't see it in its entirety (it may have aired fully in your area), seemed to be entertaining enough to air a million times on MTV in the next month. In case you missed the announcement, Mariah, aka
AGT's host Nick Cannon's wife, will
perform live on the show during the August 5 result episode.
Now onto comments about tonight's acts, including links to see more from some of the performers!
