The Partridge Family was one of those cheesy 1970s sitcoms that was horribly predictable, sugary-sweet, and much of the plot revolved around David Cassidy's fluffy hair. And yet, I loved it, right down to the sappy song they played at the end of every episode.
If you, too, are a closet fan of
The Partridge Family, here's your chance to catch
a mini-reunion of the singing family. David Cassidy plays David Gallagher on the ABC Family show
Ruby & The Rockits. Shirley Jones -- who played his mom on
The Partridge Family -- will once again play that role on
Ruby.
Ok, here's where things get complicated. In real life, Jones is Cassidy's stepmother. She's also mom to his co-star and brother Patrick Cassidy, who plays Patrick Gallagher on
Ruby. Meanwhile, David's brother Shaun Cassidy serves as executive producer, and brother Ryan is the show's set decorator.
Now if we could just get Danny Bonaduce and Susan Dey to guest star as traveling musicians passing through town in a colorful bus, a whole lot of lovin' is what they'd be bringin'!

(S01E21) Holy crap, this show is incredible. This episode had the potential to be the season finale the way it ended... I can't believe what the hybrids are up to. But we still get one more episode next week and I can't wait. With Alias, Lost, and Invasion, ABC has one hell of a Wednesday night line-up right now. Too bad we're only getting it for little while longer.
Last week we left Tom and Russell as they headed back into Homestead to try and stop Szura's plan... whatever it was. Now we know. Using the military uniforms and guns that Tom supplied Szura with, the hybrids are posing as National Guard. They're driving around, picking people up, and dropping them off at this (deserted?) military base. As the hurricane keeps knocking trees down and blocking off roads, Mariel, Larkin, and the kids end up with nowhere to go. Until one of the hybrid patrols drives up. They hop in the back of the truck but by the time Mariel realizes what's going on (I guess they all have some kind of "hybrid sense"), it's too late.

(S01E20) Consistency ... it's just always good. There's a reason that Surface
only had a 15 episode first season, and there's a reason why Threshold got the axe. Invasion was, and
is, the best of three new sci-fi shows this year, and after last night's episode, it's one season finale I'm truly
looking forward to.
If you had asked me earlier in the season, would we see Rusell and Tom joining forces by the
end of the season, I would have never called it. But they are, and after they send Larkin, Mariel, and the kids out of
town, the two of them venture back into the storm to take on Szura and his minions. This is too good.

(S01E19) Ehh... not so much. This episode was kind of like
Oscar Mayer Bologna. They tell you it's not all "filler," but after you look it? Yeah, it's
"filler." All this episode really achieved was the creation of a bond between Tom and Russell and I don't
think we'll see that bond break for the rest of the season. It's gotten to the point where I'm starting to believe
Tom. He was genuinely surprised when Russell told him that he saw pictures of Szura with the military. I really
think he means it when he tells Russell that he wants to stop Szura and whatever's planned.
That's all you really needed to know about this episode. It concluded with those two teaming up but it was
stretched out because Jesse decided that he just can't take living with "all these bastard hybrids"
anymore.

(S01E18) I kind of like it when good shows go on hiatus for three or four weeks because
when they come back, it makes it that much better. This show is too good, and anyone who says otherwise is crazy. It's
got drama, engaging characters, and a great storyline. So much happened in this episode - it was incredible.
At
this point, the whole town is on edge. No one knows who's "one of them" and everyone is running around like a
bat out of hell. Larkin even runs over a guy who escaped from the local military complex. But hey... wait a tick. Why
does the military have people in captivity? I thought the military didn't know anything? Wrong.

It's still doing it! Gets better every week! Remember how the last episode ended, with Kira taking an
evening stroll into the swamp water? Well she chickened out. Never went for that swim, but this episode opened with her
continued desire to find out what happens when you go in the water. Oooh, oooh, pick me! I want to be an
alien!
Tom is still giving Kira a hard time and she even asks the one-armed man (ehh... I mean Louis) to check
out the water with her but he declines. After all, Tom did say stay away from my daughter or I'll make you cut your
other arm off. Well not really... but I assume that's what he'd do. Kira goes swimming anyway. But she didn't see
"the lights." Instead she bumped into Derek and Christina - fresh from their escape of Tom's
"confused alien youth boot camp."
