The ShamWow guy...made a movie?!?

Vince If you loved the Slap-Chop guy's nuts, then chances are you'll love his movie.

Vince "ShamWow guy" Offer (we soon learned his real last name is Shlomi, thanks to his arrest record for fighting a prostitute) was one of the minds behind the infamous Underground Comedy Movie, a lame attempt at a Kentucky Fried Movie-style film that will live in infamy for reasons other than its attempt at comedy.

You might remember the film (or you may not want to) from the late night infomercials and commercials that aired for it back in the late '90s and early '00s. The film has a long and sordid history full of more litigation and despair than an E! True Hollywood Story, assuming that Vince Offer has not yet become the focus of an E! True Hollywood Story.

Why use the ShamWow when we have paper towels?

I know, I know, two commercial-inspired posts in one day, but this one's pretty funny. It's a parody of the ShamWow ad. It shows us all of the things that paper towels can do, regardless of what Vince tries to tell us in those commercials. Personally, I think he should drive home the "paper towels are better" point more.

Slap Chop - The Remix!

First there was the ShamWow, then the Slap Chop, and then Vince was caught fighting with a prostitute. He's a pop culture icon already, and someone has put his Slap Chop commercial to a backbeat and it's pretty good! This is a remix of the commercial set to music, and it's actually better than 50% of what's in the Top 20 right now.

The Donald to fire more "stars" next year as NBC renews Celebrity Apprentice

Vince Shlomi (It's an exciting time to be a B-, ,C- or D-List celebrity. NBC has just renewed the Celebrity Apprentice for another season set for next spring. Ratings have been pretty good for the current run, airing on Sundays with such A-List celebrities as Khloe Kardashian, Tom Green and the Dice Man. It's surprisingly entertaining television, and it's fun seeing Donald Trump interacting with these big names. Of course what it really is is just more of that celebreality voyeurism crap on which VH1 built an empire.

ShamWow guy arrested

ShamWowYou'll never look at infomercials the same way again.

The ShamWow pitchman, whose real name is Vince Shlomi, was arrested in South Beach in Florida for getting into an altercation at a hotel. Seems that he paid $1000 for the services of a prostitute for an evening, and when he started to kiss her, she bit his tongue and wouldn't let go! So he started to punch her several times until she let go of his tongue. He ran to the lobby and had hotel workers call the cops.

It's not the first time the prostitute was arrested, but she's thinking about suing Shlomi for the incident. I guess she didn't love his nuts. Charges against both of them have been dropped.

This actually happened last month, according to The Smoking Gun, which has all of the details (of course), including Shlomi's mug shot. They even have an interview with the woman involved.

VerizonSome random thoughts about current commercials.

Verizon FiOS: I think the cable guy is going to murder the FiOS guy in a future ad. I just feel it coming. This isn't just professional jealousy on the part of the cable guy (helpfully labeled "cable" on his work shirt), this is real hatred. The economy is going bad, we're moving to digital television, and this guy is only going to take so much from Verizon.
