If things don't work out for
Project Runway winner
Christian Siriano in the fashion biz, he might want to consider a full-time gig as a talk show diva. As the number one guest on
The Oprah Winfrey Show today, Christian was fierce, fun and oh-so-comfy that at times I thought Ms. O had her own little Ed McMahon or Andy Richter... but with a lot more style.
Oprah devoted the show to reality TV and the big get was Adam Lambert, the runner up in last season's
American Idol. You wouldn't have guessed he was second place based on the assertion by Oprah that he was the top choice of her viewers when asked which reality star they wanted to see on her show.
I know I'm cynical, but I think it was planned. Adam's album is coming out on November 23 and there's already been lots of buzz, including
the CD cover.

(S05E07) At the start of the show, Drew announced that tonight would be his last as co-host. Samantha Harris will be returning to work next week, which should make many people very happy. I still wish they had used a different former contestant each week, but Drew was a logical choice. They emphasized the men versus women angle again, and the women were declared the "winners" this week. The ladies dominated the leaderboard, leaving the men in the bottom half of the rankings.
In the post-performance confessional, Cameron was pumped about getting a higher score this time around. Mark said that he needed to truly believe he was a dancer before he could improve. Work isn't everything. Wayne had another humorous response to the judges' criticism. He thought that anyone who says you can lead a lady is out of their mind. I love that Wayne is always ready with a comeback for the judges and the hosts. Floyd felt like he let his partner down, but Karina assured him that this wasn't the case. Helio didn't let his middle-of-the-pack scores get him down.

Sci Fi Channel
has corrected an error that die hard fans of
Battlestar Galactica pointed out in the DVD art for the upcoming movie. Here's the deal: the TV movie is a stand-alone episode that documents what happened to the Battlestar Pegasus after the Cylon war broke out. Sci Fi
held a contest for fans to choose the DVD art for the upcoming movie, called
Razor. But the seal on the front of
the winning DVD art has an error. It had the number "75," which is Galactica's number, rather than Pegasus' number "62." Fans pressed to have the seal changed and it will be correct when the DVD comes out on December 4th.

The folks over at
Blogging Project Runway have started an
online petition to get Tim Gunn a hosting gig on
Saturday Night Live. In their words, "Tim is charming, handsome, witty and adorable. With extensive experience working before a live audience, including guest-hosting
Regis and Kelly, we believe that Tim Gunn would be an ideal host for
Saturday Night Live."
Gunn is, of course, the Chair of Parsons School of Design's Fashion Department and den mother to
Project Runway's contestants. I'm sure Gunn would ace the cue card reading requirement for hosting
SNL, but I'd really only want to see him in a Andy Samberg digital short or dissing the lackluster sketches with his "make it work" mantra. In reality, you're more likely to see Gunn turn up on
Antiques Roadshow with his
miniatures collection, but you never know. With the NBC/Bravo connection, one big PR push could lead to another, and Gunn may wind up in the
SNL driver's seat with Seal as the musical guest. If this sounds like something you want to see,
you know what to do, fashionistas.

A few tidbits of personal news from some current and former television personalities:
-- Project Runway host Hedi Klum gave birth to a little boy on November 22nd. The child's name is Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel and he weighed in at 8 lbs. 11oz. This is the third child for Klum, and the second for both her and musician husband Seal. Their first child, son Henry, was born nine months ago. This couple works fast!
-- Also giving birth: former X-Files star Gillian Anderson. Ms. Anderson (she recently divorced photojournalist husband husband Julian Ozanne after 16 months of marriage) gave birth to a 6 lbs. 8 oz. boy named Oscar. According to Anderson's manager, Oscar was born on November 1st (three weeks early) in London. Both mother and son are doing fine.

Supermodel Heidi Klum and singer Seal are expecting another baby. Their youngest, Henry Guenther Ademola Dashtu Samuel, is only nine months old. Heidi also has a 2-year-old daughter, simply called Leni, from a previous relationship. Klum and Seal married back in May.
No word yet on when Heidi is due but I think there needs to be a spin-off to
Project Runway that's all maternity clothes.

Bravo has
officially decided to start airing the third season of
Project Runway this summer in order to use September's Fall Fashion Week for the finale (where the three finalists -- and one other designer who's just there to throw off spectators and will not be aired -- compete with collections instead of individual garments). An hour-long casting special will air July 12 at 9PM ET/PT, with the first episode premiering at 10PM.
If you've never seen the program before, I suggest you jump on the bandwagon with the first episode. It really is the classiest reality show on television.
[Thanks, orimental!]

If you've been watching
Project
Runway lately (and if you haven't been watching, why the hell not?), you've been lucky enough to see Santino's Tim
Gunn impressions. They're pretty spot-on, I must say, because if I'm not watching the screen, sometiems I'll wonder if
it is Tim talking. During this week's episode, Santino revealed that he had created a fake Tim/Andrae relationship to
go along with his impression. In Santino's mind, Tim and Andrae are currently going through some couple-trouble and
have the occasional relationship squabble at Red Lobster... It's absolutely priceless.
Now, check this
out... I found something to top it! I was looking for some Daniel Vosovic pictures (go Team Vosovic!) and came across a
behind-the-scenes video of Daniel asking Santino to do an impression of Tim singing Nine Inch Nails' "Closer".
I have no words except: Ell-oh-ell semi-colon shift-dee. Trust me, you must
see it for yourself.
