The long Hollywood labor nightmare that began in November of last year officially ended yesterday when the Screen Actors Guild overwhelmingly ratified a new contract with the studios.
Guild members voted 78% in favor of the new agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers (AMPTP), despite calls by hard-line union members who urged actors to vote "no" and force continued negotiations.
It's clear that two huge factors in the SAG approval were general labor strife fatigue and the struggling economy.

Actors really take themselves seriously, don't they? They don't even like to call a female performer an actress. Only actors allowed.
The SAG Awards are always a bit of a downer, since we already saw all these people at the Golden Globes. And pretty much the same people won again. The only pleasant surprises were The Office winning for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Little Miss Sunshine taking the movie cast award. Here are the winners:

Harry Potter is a dirty, dirty boy. Daniel Radcliffe guest stars on 'Extras,' where he hopes to shed his innocent image by making a very indecent proposal to Maggie. Dumbledore would be aghast. Meanwhile, Andy (Ricky Gervais) is a laughingstock after he makes a faux pas at a restaurant.
