AOL recently conducted a poll of readers to find out what they thought was the best and worst of television last season. More than 3 million votes were counted! They had to answer 20 questions about their favorite dramas, comedies, reality shows, and Sanjaya hairstyles. I don't necessarily agree with all the results, but that's okay. It's still interesting to see what got people excited last season.
Here are just a few of the results, to see the full list,

Best Drama: House
Best Comedy: Ugly Betty
Best Reality: American Idol
Best Cliffhanger: Lost

Oh man, not one, but two celebrity guests tonight. Uh, how were we so lucky? That means a full hour show...
You'd think a ten percent ratings drop from last year would motivate them to keep it simple, but Idol's sixth season is still picking up new fans and continuing to find new ways to keep us entertained -- even when that means morphing into something other than the beloved original format.
I wonder if turning American Idol into a variety show is a good thing? No longer is it only a singing show but also a telethon for the needy, an outlet for songwriters and a place where celebrities go to sell a few CDs and pretend they sing better than the contestants. All they need now is a stand-up comic and a cooking segment.

It's been accurate during every round of the Top 12 phase (even predicting Chris Sligh's surprise ouster), but if the AOL 'American Idol' poll is right, this week's results episode is gonna be one for the books.
Front-runner and judge favorite Lakisha Jones and Justin Timberlake knock-off Chris Richardson should dust off their Samsonite. They are the bottom-two finalists in the poll after last night's Gloria Estefan fest. The two have been swapping last-place rankings in the results line-up all day.

In his day-after exit interview, former 'American Idol' contestant Chris Sligh revealed he almost dropped out of the competition two weeks ago because of artistic differences.
"I never came into this wanting to win it. I come from an indie / alternative rock kind of background," Sligh told TV reporters during a conference call. "For me, I think winning would hurt what I was really going for."
After the judges criticized his arrangement of the Diana Ross classic "Endless Love," said Sligh: "I went to the guy from 19 [Entertainment] and said, 'If I drop out, can I still go on tour?' And they were like, 'No, you have to get voted out.' So I was like, 'Well, we'll see what happens.'"

(S03E08) OK, I officially have no idea what is going on with the voting anymore. It would be nice if we actually got to see how everyone ended up, top to bottom, week to week. Then we could get out the slide rules and extrapolate some factors, maybe figure out just how that fan vote is going. Clearly it is playing a huge role.
Anyway... another long and drawn out results show. Willa and Maksim get the encore. I suspected it would be Mario, but nothing wrong with giving Willa the nod. They were very good this week. That was followed up by a performance by Los Lonely Boys, or as I like to think of them, the good band that was on the show this week.

(S01E11) I know there are a lot of sensitive readers out there who'll get upset if I reveal the winner of this show right here, above the fold, so I'll have you click on to read the quick summary. Why only a quick summary? Because haven't the creators of this show put you through enough hours of recapping this show already?

(S01E06) Tonight was actually two episodes, but to
be honest with you, I didn't even bother sitting through the first one. Why? Because I already saw many of them once,
and they weren't all that worth sitting through yet again. And to see more, ones that weren't good enough to show us
the first time? No thanks.
I do have one question, though -- whatever happened to those singer dudes who had
that nut/shell ashtray thing? They seemed very sure they'd "be famous again," so what happened? I think that
was the last we saw of it. Oh well guys, good luck with that fame thing.
Anyway, onto the first finalist
round.

We got some great entries to our
birthday contest last week, but alas, there can
only be one..no wait, two...no, three winners. Unfortunately for some entries, we weren't able to consider them due to
their use of no-longer running shows such as
Arrested Development; the contest stated to use shows that
currently exist, and unfortunately
AD has yet to see a greenlight.
The first place prize goes to
BobMac for his
great
mixture of comedy, drama and action throughout the week. Not only that, but he was one of several people who were
smart enough to make sure the Daily Show made a daily airing during the week.
Second and third place (no
particular order) go to
orimental for his
"very snarky" channel, and
Adam Rakunas for his
'Glazed Eye' channel.
Congratulations to all the winners! I'll be getting in touch with the winners shortly!
