It's getting down to the wire, and all three of the remaining contestants are certainly talented enough to be crowned the next
American Idol. While I've been an Adam Lambert fan all along, I'd be fine with whomever wins this season.
Things start off tonight with the Ford commercial, kind of a fun little cartoon-oriented ad with Adam, Danny and Kris singing "Break My Stride." It must be really fun to see yourself as a cartoon/comic book character.

Well, most of you correctly predicted who would go home on American Idol this week. A whopping 1183 votes for the predicted loser were logged in our poll!
But before we got to find out who it was for real, a whole bunch of other stuff happened, starting with Kara saying she appreciates the audience and their passion for the Idols. That was in reference to the heckling she got last night.
And Paula tried to redeem herself by saying that while she put the spotlight on Adam Lambert (you know, that Mick Jagger/Steven Tyler comment), she knows that all of the Idols have something special. Alrighty then.

This being the results show of Motown Night, the Idols sang a montage of Motown hits against a backdrop of classic Motown stars. Very nice. I also liked the Ford commercial, with the contestants putting together giant puzzle pieces while singing "Take Me Away." They look like they're having a blast.
Then the Velvet Teddy Bear Ruben Studdard sang a tune, and Ryan mentions that he was recently married. Congrats to Ruben!
And then the countdown begins with Adam Lambert up first. I can't imagine that he'd be going home, and sure enough, he's safe. With his ability to show such vastly different sides of his artistic talent, Adam has launched himself straight to the top of my favorites list.

(
S04E21) Nigel told the final six that while they were getting plenty of applause and adulation on the show, they would have to get used to rejection if they continue on this career path. He advised that they use the rejection to propel them forward. But, the final six shouldn't feel too bad because each one of them got over a million votes going into this results show.
And the stakes are even higher going into the finale. Adam Shankman has added a role as a featured dancer in his new movie to the winner's prize package.
So let's see who will be battling it out next Thursday on
So You Think You Can Dance.

(
S04E17) Well, we've certainly moved on to the next part of the competition. America decides. And we don't have to listen to cranky Nigel or that lunatic Mary anymore. Lil C, however, I will listen to. I thought he was a great judge last night. And his comments tonight were good, too. Speaking of
Wednesday night, the big announcement was that
Comfort would be replacing Jessica (who has a couple broken ribs).
But we got another big announcement last night --
So You Think You Can Dance received four
Emmy nominations. The make-up team was nominated as well as three choreographers. Wade Robson's Hummingbird & Flower piece got a nod as did Mandy Moore's Table routine (the one to "Sweet Dreams") and Shane Sparks' Transformers number to "Fuego." Mia Michaels is crying in corner somewhere. You'll get 'em next year Mia.

So You Think You Can Dance. Off we go!
Opening Performance"Elevator" by Flo Rida featuring Timbaland (choreographer: Shane Sparks)
What a great hip-hop performance! And I'm so glad that Shane Sparks is lending his expertise to the show again. I was worried he'd be totally wrapped up in America's Best Dance Crew this summer. The girls part on the floor was great but a few of them messed up the arm movements. The best part of the piece was Comfort with the three guys. It was near perfect. My eyes never left Comfort. I wasn't impressed with her krumping on Wednesday but this opener proved to me why she's there.

Some guy sang some song. What was his name? Oh yeah, it's Peter Noone. Then, some lady, who looked smoking hot for a 60-year-old, sang some unknown song. What was her name again? Had to rewind that one too to remember it was Lulu. Finally Stephanie gets voted off, and I only remember her name because I realized last night that up until then I still had no idea who she was. And that about sums it up for me tonight.
I have a good memory, I swear!
I'm extremely into '60s music. When they started reading off the British band names last night, I got pretty green with envy. I tried so hard to get Van Morrison and Beatles songs cleared for television, but only got shot down time and again. Apparently not much has changed since then, given the fact I didn't recognize any of those songs with the exception of maybe two or three.

I was a little distracted tonight. I should have been trying to care about who left this week, but instead I kept thinking about Kellie Pickler and her little blue dress. It's not what you think; I'm into smarter girls. It's just funny how perfectly she illustrated what the effect of a night on the town in your "Red High Heels" will have on you.
I like to think she woke up the morning after and looked down and was like "holy s**t my boobs are bigger!" It makes for a good story.
Another good story is: now that Alaina is out, Ryan is free to hit on her openly. I think something like that could bump Britney and her bald head from the cover of every magazine in the grocery store. It's publicity gold. There were lots of other little fun tidbits on the show last night. Starting with one of Idol's very own bald contestants, AJ.

Scott Slaney writes:
Hi, I really hope you can help me. I've looked everywhere! When will the Final 12 shows start for American Idol?Well, Scott, I've done my own search online and learned that the Top 12
American Idol Finalists will be announced on Thursday, March 8 (8-9 PM) when two male and two female contestants are send packing. The following Tuesday, March 13 (8-9 PM), the Top 12 Finalists will perform live. As always, life in the Top 12 will end abruptly for one unlucky contestant who will be sent home the very next day (Wednesday, March 14) with a good-bye montage, and a patented Ryan Seacrest pat-on-the-back.

Despite all the mania surrounding
Lost, there is apparently a lot more mania surrounding
American Idol. Last night's episode of
Lost had its lowest ratings of the season (lowest, anyway, for a new episode). Even though it was the lead-up to the season finale, it couldn't stand up to the awesome power of the
American Idol results show. This is amazing to me because that results show is crap. There's no need to actually watch it. Just log onto the internet, people!
Last night,
Idol averaged 27.1 million viewers and a 10.5 rating/25 share while
Lost averaged 14.2 million viewers and a 5.9 rating/14 share. Yowza. I think things are only going to get worse for
Lost next week.
