Sigh.
Anyway, two episodes next week. In the meantime, there's this.

I'm about to have a lot of free time on my hands when my favorite shows go into reruns due to this writers strike. Besides the late night talk shows, the first scripted series to go into reruns is The Office, which has only one new episode left and it airs this Thursday.Continue reading WGA Strike: Get ready for reruns

From 6 a.m. September 16 to 6 a.m. September 18, TV Land is airing a Three's Company marathon. The marathon will also include episodes of The Ropers and Three's A Crowd, and, for the first time ever on television, the original unaired pilot of Three's Company. Well, actually, this claims it's "one of" the unaired pilots, so I guess they made more than two? Well, whatever the heck it is, it's an episode even diehard Three's Company fans haven't seen before, so it might be worth checking out. No word on the exact time when the pilot episode will air, however, so it's probably best to just sit in front of your TV for those entire 48 hours.
South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have had to fight quite a few battles over the last several months, from the "Bloody Mary" episode that upset some Catholics to the two-part "Cartoon Wars" episode that was censored by Comedy Central. The two creators had become so fed up they almost walked after the network pulled the "Trapped in the Closet" episode that skewered both Scientology and its most vocal supporter, Tom Cruise. Rumors were abound as to why the episode was pulled, with some, including Parker and Stone, claiming Cruise himself had a hand in it. Well, whatever reason the network might have had is apparently no longer relevant because the episode will return on July 19. No word on whether those censored images of Muhammad from "Cartoon Wars" will ever be seen, though. Of course, you could always just watch the opening credits for that.
In an interview with Diane Sawyer that aired on
Friday night, Tom Cruise denied reports that he pressured
Comedy Central to pull the South Park episode where he is in the closet. He told Sawyer that he was too busy
filming Mission Impossible: III to worry about trivial matters like the repeat of South Park. Tom
told Sawyer, "I don't spend my days going, 'What are people saying about me?'" Yeah, he pays people to do
that.
I found this
article interesting, and it made me think about what reruns I always watch. It says that Friends is one of
the highest-rated shows in syndication right now. Maybe that's because there's always an episode on at one time or
another. Or, maybe you're like me and you're casually catching up on all the episodes you never saw as you fix dinner.

Now if they would just bring back Silver Spoons and It's Your
Move we could complete the Jason Bateman 80s TV Trinity. For now, however, we'll have to
settle with the fact that ABC Family plans to air reruns of The Hogan Family, the series that was
originally called Valerie and Valerie's Family before Valerie Harper left the show and was replaced
by Sandy Duncan. In fact, don't expect to see Valerie Harper at all, as the network only plans to show episodes
from the third season on. The show will return on April 3.
Update: The Valerie Harper seasons will air after all, but not until after the first rotation.
