As those of you who have been following the story of his recovery know, Richard Hammond, co-host of popular British automotive show Top Gear, suffered serious brain injuries from a 288mph jet car crash last September. Hammond returned to Top Gear this past Sunday where it's reported he received a "hero's welcome" from fans. Top Gear aired footage of crash, which you can see online via the BBC.

Hammond, who watched the footage alongside co-hosts Jeremy Clarkson and James May, said that he has no recollection of the crash. "The only difference between me now, and before the crash, is I like celery now." Investigators are still reviewing the safety precautions taken by the show. Top Gear, which appears on BBC2, aired briefly in the United States on the Discovery Channel.

A few months ago, I mentioned that ABC's Bob Woodruff, who was injured in Iraq last January, will be making a special for the network about his recovery. Well, the AP is reporting that an air date for the special has been set: tentatively titled To Iraq and Back: Bob Woodruff Reports, it will air on February 27.

In the special, Woodruff will not only talk about his long recovery process from his injuries, but he'll also speak to the medical personnel that helped him, as well as eyewitnesses to the roadside bomb attack. He'll also profile military rescue teams that work to get injured soldiers out of harm's way and to various field hospitals.

As was also announced this past fall, Woodruff and his wife Lee will also write a memoir on his recovery, to be published by Random House.

(S03E06) This episode was absolutely delicious -- like the sushi you enjoy the half hour before you figure out that it was bad bad bad and that you are going to suffer for a long time (I am referring to rumors about next week's episode. But as I have not seen it yet, I will refrain from repeating them here).

Let me start by doing a bit of psychoanalysis on Susan. Is she just the type of woman who cannot stand on her own two feet without a man, or what? Her love for Mike is just over (snap!) the minute she finds him in bed with Edie? He is a recovering coma patient and Edie is manipulating him-- if Susan really loved him, I think she would cut him a little slack. But how could she know that he was about to start regaining his memory (and Edie's nurse costume would be the key!)?

The AP reports that Bob Woodruff, who was severely injured by a roadside bomb while working in Iraq last January, will make his first on-screen appearance since the injury this spring. He will appear in a prime-time special that detailed his long recovery process.

In the special, Woodruff will interview eyewitnesses to the explosion and the medical teams that helped get him to safety and saved his life. He will also talk to other soldiers who have been injured in Iraq, as well as their families. Woodruff and his wife Lynn are also working on a book for Random House about his injury and recovery affected him and his family. The book will also talk about the couple's history together.

After the special airs, Woodruff will also begin to work more regularly at ABC News, but his role is uncertain, since he lost his World News anchor spot to Charles Gibson earlier this year.
