Fans of the almost late, definitely great
Battlestar Galactica over at Sci Fi can keep their hopes alive that the series may return in the form of those oft-rumored movies. On June 27, Grace Park said that
rumors of a Battlestar Galactica made-for-TV film have reached the set, where they recently had their wrap party for the four-year series. None of the actors have been contacted, and as we've been reporting all over the place here on TV Squad, the various
actors and
actresses are getting snatched up
left and
right for
new shows.
Park's rumor had shooting beginning in August, which seems a tremendous stretch, as most of the new fall shows the actors are appearing in will be filming at that time. It would make more sense to try and film it during breaks. Or maybe it's going to go the route of
Razor and feature mostly non-regular actors. Hell, she may have heard about the filming of prequel series
Caprica.
Who knows what the hell is going on, but this is the new media. Facts be damned, I love
Battlestar Galactica, and if Park had said this shortly before vomiting and passing out drunk off her ass, it'd still be worth a post. Anyone hear anything more?

Apparently,
NBC Universal wants to make more Battlestar Galactica television movies like Razor, possibly as soon as this summer. According to Maureen Ryan of the
Chicago Tribune, discussions have just started regarding this.
Ronald Moore has stated that
Battlestar Galactica in its current format would not be continued after this season. Given the death rate of the surviving humans, I wonder if any of the characters will be left to film after the season's end. My guess is that the TV movies would serve as filler for what could be a long delay between the first and second halves of season four.
What keeps
Battlestar Galactica intriguing is that, much like
Lost, you never know who will be alive or dead by the end of the episode. This makes for exciting storytelling.
On the other hand, the TV movies could simply be tie-ins to the upcoming prequel series
Caprica. What do you think the TV movies would be about?

Mysterious. Mesmerizing. Interesting. Dynamic. Compelling. Any and all of these words accurately describe actress Michelle Forbes. She is one of the finest actresses in television, and yet she has maintained a distinct quality that makes her as elusive a performer to come around since Garbo! Intensely private, there's not much known about the Austin, Texas native. (However, I can tell you that she collects clocks -- broken clocks. As she told me, quoting the movie
Withnail and I, "Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day.")
She's currently making HBO's new drama
In Treatment appointment TV, drawing her loyal following to find her latest work as she did in
24, Prison Break, Homicide and
Battlestar Galactica. And that doesn't even take into account the millions who first discovered this chameleon when she first burst onto the scene in
Guiding Light, and then
Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Rather than have you sit through what basically would amount to a more detailed version of the
Early Look post I did about
Razor last month, I wanted to at least make sure you all had a forum of sorts to discuss the movie. I will, however, mention a few points worth mentioning again ...

The
Batlestar Galactica: Razor flashbacks conclude here. We've only got a few days more before the
Razor movie hits the air, and even though I've already seen the movie twice, I'm definitely catching it again. Usually these mini-episodes that accompany seasons of other shows are dull and uninteresting (I didn't care much for those earlier
BSG ones, honestly), but these flashbacks have been a breath of fresh air.
The video is embedded after the jump.

Here's the fifth installment of the
Batlestar Galactica: Razor flashbacks (or
"Razorettes"). As some have previously noted (and I don't believe this is a spoiler really), this clip and the following ones will be seen as flashbacks in the
Battlestar Galactica: Razor movie later this month.
The video is embedded after the jump. Enjoy!

Alright, I realize many of you have already seen this on the Sci Fi Channel during its regular time, but I do post these as soon as Sci Fi gets them out to me. Thankfully I've got the rest of the
Razorettes queued up with specific "OK to post" dates for you, so they'll be up more timely in the future.
So, without further delay, here's the continuation of the
Battlestar Galactica: Razor flashback ...

The
Battlestar Galactica: Razor Flashback videos keep coming in, though this one's a little late. Like I said, this is where things really get good with these "Razorettes" (as they're being called. Sounds like candy). There's no doubt that Adama was and still is one bad ass mofo. Oh, and if the fight looks over to you at the end of this clip, guess again.
Check out the third video after the jump. You can also go back and check out the rest of the
razorettes. Mmm, razorettes.

And the
Battlestar Galactica: Razor Flashback videos
continue. I was lucky enough to have caught all of these
videos already, and I can tell you with certainty that these are all very much well worth watching if you're any sort of fan of the
BSG series. Just wait until the next one -- holy frak!
I agree with most of the comments so far -- this guy plays a fantastic young Bill "Husker" Adama.
Check out the second video after the jump.

"You are capable of setting aside your fears, setting aside your hesitation ... and even your revulsion. Every natural inhibition that, during battle, could mean the difference between life and death.
When you can be this -- or as long as you have to be -- then you're a razor." -- Admiral Helena Cain,
Battlestar Galactica: RazorYes, I was as shocked as the rest of you that, when I got to the TV Squad package drop the other day, one of those magical purple binders was waiting for me, emblazoned with a big white "IF", which could only mean one thing -- SciFi Channel goodness.
Before you continue, I will warn you that some of this is a little spoilery. I don't think it's much, but I'd rather warn you now than incur your wrath later.

The days are ticking down to the
Battlestar Galactica: Razor movie, coming to SciFi on November 24. Until then, SciFi is releasing what they're calling "
Battlestar Galactica: Razor Flashbacks". I'm told we'll get these about every week until the movie premieres.
This one features a couple of seemingly new characters who were once on board the Galactica during the First Cylon War. Check it out after the jump.

Sci Fi Channel
has corrected an error that die hard fans of
Battlestar Galactica pointed out in the DVD art for the upcoming movie. Here's the deal: the TV movie is a stand-alone episode that documents what happened to the Battlestar Pegasus after the Cylon war broke out. Sci Fi
held a contest for fans to choose the DVD art for the upcoming movie, called
Razor. But the seal on the front of
the winning DVD art has an error. It had the number "75," which is Galactica's number, rather than Pegasus' number "62." Fans pressed to have the seal changed and it will be correct when the DVD comes out on December 4th.

Last month
we told you of Sci Fi Channel's poll for choosing the cover art for the DVD of the upcoming
Battlestar Galactica - Razor TV movie.
We posted our own poll and, as it turns out, the votes match up.
The winning choice, seen right, is 'B'. I actually chose 'C' myself (which came in second in our poll), maybe because when thinking of the word "razor" I thought the split images matched along with that. But in all honesty, I don't really care what the cover looks like -- they were all fine choices.

SCI FI is trying to generate a little interest for its upcoming
Battlestar Galactica movie,
Razor, by letting the fans choose the DVD cover art. There are three options on
this website. Personally, I'm torn between #1 and #2 and do not like #3 one bit. The third one looks fragmented, but it could be popular because it includes a picture of Starbuck.
Razor is a two-hour, stand alone movie that chronicles what happened to the Battlestar Pegasus after the Cylons attacked Caprica. It does include appearances from major BSG cast members such as Adm. Adama, Starbuck, Apollo, Number Six, and Laura Roslin.
