Yeah, I know, we already had a Ben Silverman-centric post today, but this is going to be interesting for fans of Friday Night lights.
Radar ran into the NBC Entertainment President Ben Silverman at a party for Lipstick Jungle (I'm sure it was a great party, but that show doesn't have a chance), and they asked him if the high school football drama was going to be saved even though it doesn't get good ratings, and Silverman responded in typical Silvermanian (?) fashion.

What's happening on other blogs via the interweb.

Gotta hand it to Zach Braff; he's probably one of the most wired celebrities out there. He was one of the first celebs (besides our very own
Wil Wheaton, of course) to maintain a blog, and he seems to be well aware of whatever internet buzz is flying around about him or
Scrubs.
So it's no surprise to see him respond to the reports from
Gawker, Radar Online, and other sites about how he's been tomcatting around New York this summer, seemingly talking up a different woman every night. On the latest entry in his
blog (which is also on his
MySpace page), he wonders why the tabloid coverage of him is saying that he's being a jerk:

Are you one of those people (like myself) who can tell what era a M*A*S*H episode is from just by watching the first 10 seconds of the opening credits? Do you know the subtle theme changes by heart? Do you murmur 'Season 8' when you see the wide shot of the choppers without the initial over-the-shoulder zoom behind Radar's shoulder? If you are one of those insane people then, boy, have I got a site for you!
Bob Gassel has compiled all of the opening credits to M*A*S*H and put them onto one website.

FTVLive is reporting that there are rumors going around that two MSNBC personalities, Tucker Carlson and Rita Cosby, are being let go from the network. As we've told you earlier, NBC has laid off 700 people and MSNBC is going through a massive restructuring and Carlson and Cosby might be part of those changes (there are also reports that Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews will be going over to CNBC and MSNBC will go to an all documentary and taped feature format).
But wait! Carlson says it's not true, and so does MSNBC chief Dan Abrams.
Regardless of whether they're gone or not, I still think that making CNBC the news station for NBC is a good idea, if for one reason: they'll get out from under that "MS" in MSNBC and become their own news entity. There were rumors a year or so ago that NBC was going to end its association with Microsoft, but that hasn't happened yet. Maybe this could be the first step to rebranding. What does CNBC stand for anyway? Isn't it something like Cable NBC? If that's the case, the change makes sense.

ABC's latest
Bachelor candidate is starting to sound a little slimy. Sure, Lorenzo Borghese is a member of Italy's royal family who grew up in the United States. But apparently he couldn't speak a lick of Italian so the producers signed him up for an intensive Italian course before the show started, according to
Radar online. And, even though
his bio says he was raised in Connecticut, Radar can only find addresses for his family in New Jersey, dating back to 1979. Plus, the Radar reporters say there's no way Rome is Lorenzo's "second home", as he claims in the promos. Members of the Borghese family in Rome say the prince has never come to their city. And, quite frankly, they're embarrassed that he's doing the show as a member of the family.

Best Week Ever has video of Clay Aiken's appearance on Good Morning America today.
- Another great post from Ken Levine, this time shattering the dreams of men everywhere (including me).
- Radar asks about the new CW: does the merger of two mediocre networks add up to one good one?
- I didn't catch this during the debut, but Studio 60 creators Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme kept a live blog the other night (read from bottom to top, of course). Funny cameo from Nate Cordrry. (And check out Defaker.)

For anyone I owe money to (friends, family, phone company, etc), you might just have to wait several months if they keep releasing these damn complete series DVD sets.
It's not official yet, but TVShowsonDVD is reporting that a box set for M*A*S*H is on its way November 7. The set will include every episode on 36 discs, along with the original Robert Altman-directed film, and two discs of bonus materials including a trivia game and a 30th Anniversary cast reunion. Throw in a special collector's booklet and you have the ultimate Christmas gift for the 4077 fan on your list.
Hopefully one of them is me.
