94% of people polled aren't sure what they think of polls
If I was to make a list of ten things I hate on television, I think polls would be one of them. The news channels (cable and local news) are always asking us to text or call in with our opinion on some poll question. But you can't believe the numbers, as Jon Stewart showed last night on The Daily Show. (Video also here.)
Kevin McKidd Joining Grey's Anatomy?
Like many people, I was miffed that Journeyman wasn't picked up for another season. But maybe we'll get our fix of Kevin McKidd at Seattle Grace next year. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the Scottish actor, who blew (some of) us away as the time-traveling journalist Dan Vasser on Journeyman, is in talks to join the cast of Grey's Anatomy. The rumor is that McKidd would play a doctor who scrubs in at the hospital after a stint in Iraq.

TV Squad Poll: Who the heck watches According to Jim?
Today ABC revealed its 2008-2009 schedule, where many fan favorites were listed as returning, along with some disappointing cancellations. Every year, though, there's one show that stands out in that list of returning shows; a show that, nearly every time its name is uttered here, gets slammed and ridiculed, boggling minds as to why, oh why, is it getting yet another season. That show is, of course, According to Jim.Once again, According to Jim gets to continue on ABC for another season. If you read the comments here, though, it's not as though anyone is particularly happy about it. "WTF" and "you've got to be kidding me" are common reactions to this news. So, I have to wonder: if so many people seem to hate this show, despise it so much as to make it the brunt of many TV-related jokes, and to be shocked -- SHOCKED, I tell you -- that the network could continue to allow such an atrocity to linger on, then who is watching it?
Joel asked this question before, but now I want to know. After the jump I've put a poll in place to get some idea of who's behind the ratings that keep breathing life into Jim Belushi's career.

Brothers and Sisters: Love is Difficult
(S01E15) Did you catch it? If you were playing the Brothers and Sisters drinking game tonight, tonight's inside joke was from Kitty this time. When she was yelling at McAllister about her poll results, she said that people might think she is too thin.Well, finally. Is it just that time in the season for television characters to be getting to the heart of matters in this particular episode? This seems to be happening a lot this week. For the first time, Balthazar Getty got an episode tonight that was worthy of him. And it's nice to know that he isn't a saint and that he is pissed about Sarah getting the family business. And he doesn't even have the regrets of not having confronted William about it.

Stupid polls and horrible horoscopes: Inside Inside TV
On the cover: the 10 best dressed celebs at the Daytime Emmys. - Stupid poll of the day: what repeat did you watch last Thursday night, CBS' Cold Case ("I like revisiting old shows and seeing how the show has evolved") or Bravo's The West Wing ("Since this awesome show is canceled, I have to catch the reruns"). First off, what a bizarrely specific, needless poll. What repeat did we watch last Thursday at 8? If we're talking across the dial, why single out Cold Case on one of the big four networks and The West Wing over on cable? And The West Wing is canceled? Huh? This is a TV magazine, right?
- You can get your horoscope (scroll down) too. Though who the hell knows what this has to do with TV. Anne Heche's birthday was May 25: "Anne is still stunning, gorgeous, talented, and straight." Probably. Maybe.
- Play Spellbound. Sort of the poor man's Boggle. But, again, it has nothing to do with TV.
- Enter a contest to win a cameo on your favorite show (if your favorite show is Veronica Mars, Two and a Half Men, Cold Case, Medium, or Girlfriends).
