Now that the show is over (for the time being), Ronald D. Moore got back with releasing podcasts this week. However, he seems to have skipped a couple in the middle.
As I've done in the past, I'll just summarize some of what I thought were the more interesting parts of the podcasts. If you're interested in learning more about Moore's insights and details about each episode, you really should take the time to listen to the podcasts yourself. Now if only someone could sync up these podcasts with the Hulu videos, that would be awesome.
It took a bit for Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore to get back into his podcasts for this season's episodes, so it took me some time to catch up myself.

New Zealand's fourth most popular five minute podcast about TV Squad returns! As always, you can either listen to it right in your browser or subscribe to it via iTunes and bring the dulcet tones of my voice with you on the subway. I can't think of anything better than hearing me talk about Ashton Kutcher's possible exposure to Hep A while being stabbed to death by one of the Shower Posse.
Like a lot of writers, I have an idea folder (it's manila, but I have it covered in puffy rainbow and unicorn stickers, so it's beautiful). As each week progresses, I jot down all my ideas -- for columns, for stand-up bits, for ransom notes -- and at the end of that week, I take stock of my creative output.
This week, I noticed that there were a lot of ideas that I wanted to share, but that weren't quite big enough for a full TV 101 column. I attached them to the end of my last column in a section called "Dribs and Drabs." It was a good thought, except that it took an already bloated piece (my writing makes the Unabomber's manifesto look like a dream of concise thought) and puffed it up into a 3000 word monstrosity. My editor suggested I break up the Dribs and Drabs section into its own piece, and that, dear readers, is what I did. Dribs and Drabs, after the jump...
Sesame Street would like to be there for you parents when there is a learning opportunity out in the real world. Let's say your child is at the playground and isn't sharing. Or, she's having a fit while you're waiting in line at the grocery store. The Street wants you to whip out your video iPod (or other portable media device) and have Elmo give your child a lesson on all sorts of things. Or, at least distract her.
Each week, Sesame Street will turn out a five-minute podcast that includes clips from old and new episodes. The episodes will each have a theme and will extend Sesame Street's focus this season on vocabulary and literacy.
You can subscribe to the weekly video podcasts here or in iTunes.
Did you know a person can be funny on television and the internet? It's true. Here's a few examples:
First, comedians Jim Norton (Lucky Louie, Tough Crowd) and Jim Florentine (Crank Yankers, Meet the Creeps) have a new series on Super Deluxe where they give super-brief commentaries on current events. The clips are not safe for work, or for most living creatures, but if you don't mind crude humor and lots of cussing, then check it out.
We're going to give the show another go tonight, this time for a full fantabulous hour!
Check below (after the jump) for an embedded BlogTalkRadio player to listen in live starting at 10PM Eastern. We'll continue talking about the new fall shows, Comic-Con stuff, the site in general and anything else on our minds (or the minds of our listeners).
The call-in number is (646) 716-7977. Call in live with your questions about all things TV and TV Squad. If you want to leave us a voicemail that we'll play on the air, you can leave a message at (917) 421-9477. See you at 10!
It's almost time for our first show! Check below (after the jump) for an embedded BlogTalkRadio player to listen in live starting at 10PM Eastern. We'll ramble on for a half-hour about the new fall shows, the TCA press tour, Comic-Con and anything else on our minds (or the minds of our listeners).

Once upon a time, Joel Keller and I attempted to do a weekly podcast called "TV Squad All Points Bulletin". It eventually faded away, mostly because neither of us had the time to do the editing and encoding anymore. This time we're going to try something a bit different, cutting out the editing phase altogether and allowing the listeners to participate.
Tonight, for 30 minutes starting at 10PM Eastern, we'll be doing our first of what we hope to be a weekly, live "radio" show we're calling the Ultra Fantaboulous & Sexy TV Squad Talk Extravaganza & Happy Hour! (the exclamation point is necessary; the sexy, notsomuch) We'll have a post here at 9:45PM with the call-in number and an online player to listen in on the show. Plus, the show will be available as a downloadable podcast automatically when it's over.
Remember, check back on TV Squad at 9:45 for the show call-in number!
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending a taping of The Sound of Young America at Santa Monica's Westside Eclectic Theater. There was music and merriment and a fart orchestra that I won't bother explaining, but the centerpiece of the show was an interview between host Jesse Thorn and Veronica Mars creator and Miss/Guidedshowrunner Rob Thomas.
I learned many important things about Rob Thomas that night.
I'm a bit late with this, so forgive me, but it's still worth mentioning.
The podcast Just My Show recently interviewed Marion Ross of Happy Days and Dan Lauria of The Wonder Years.
The interviewer is no Jesse Thorn, and he doesn't so much ask questions as just mention items from the interviewees past and ask for comments, but it's still a pleasure to hear these two TV parents talk about their roles.
This week's Lost audio podcast featured more hints and teases than real answers. Since it's close to the season finale, hosts Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse only gave fans indications of what to expect in the next three weeks. They did manage to review "The Brig," preview "The Man Behind The Curtain," and answer fan questions, however. Here's a quick recap:
The writers knew for several seasons that Anthony Cooper was the original Sawyer. They actually thought it had become fairly obvious.
Lindelof and Cuse were tight-lipped about "The Man Behind The Curtain," but mentioned that we will learn much more about Ben and Jacob. Richard Alpert will also be seen next week.
This week's Lost audio podcast was full of information about the rest of Season Three. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse previewed next week's episode, "D.O.C.," and answered questions about recent episodes. Actors Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjin Kim also discussed their theories about the paternity of Sun's child.
Yunjin Kim and Daniel Dae Kim each thought they knew the truth about the father of Sun's baby. It turns out that each actor was given a different answer from producers.
The actors were surprised at fan's reactions to "The Glass Ballerina." Some viewers believed that Jae Lee was pushed to his death, but Yunjin Kim confirmed that he did, in fact, commit suicide. She said that the script made the suicide far more clear, but that the episode was edited in a way that made Jae Lee's death more ambiguous.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition isn't just about improving homes anymore. This week's episode involves someone getting their own playable character in a new PS3 game.
The MuppetCast is not a podcast created by the Jim Henson company like the one I mentioned back in August, but rather a simple love letter to the Muppets from Steve Swanson, a longtime fan. In many ways, that makes it better than the other, "official" podcast because it's not simply a plug for upcoming projects from Jim Henson Studios. There's nothing wrong with updates on what's happening, but it's cool for a Muppet fanatic like myself to sit back and listen to someone who loves them as much as I do.
