Baldwin lays into Dora - VIDEO

doraWe've all heard about Alec Baldwin's angry message to his daughter, and like most of you, I didn't give it much thought.

However, while poking around our parent company AOL's news site, I found a link to this video (embedded below) in which Dora the Explorer, the bilingual chick who loves learning, receives a call from a very irate Alec Baldwin. I must say, Dora seems to take it pretty well. In fact, it's almost as if she's so preoccupied she has no idea what's being said to her.

Really, though, I can't blame Baldwin for getting upset. I'd be upset too if someone decided they'd rather hunt for treasure with their mother and a monkey than talk to me on the phone. I would suggest setting up an intervention with the Backyardigans; I'm pretty sure their credentials match Dr. Phil's.

Get a phone call from Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin calls you at home.First it was Samuel L. Jackson for Snakes on a Plane, then it was Dwight (Fart) Schrute for The Office, and the latest "Have a celebrity call your friend and leave a funny message encouraging them to watch X product" is from ... Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock. In my opinion, this is the best by far. Where Sam and Dwight just yelled and generally berated you, Alec soothingly uses his dulcet tones to let you know about his love for the show. Sure, it's a bit creepy when he says he's looking through your window, but just breathe easier knowing it's not Stephen Baldwin.

You can personalize each message with several different options, and send as many as your keyboard can hammer out. Click here to check out our version, and then run off to make your own. How long until Matthew Perry starts calling folks on behalf of Studio 60? I don't mean using this computer generated message thingamajig, I mean literally calling people straight from the phone book.

Robot Chicken clip: Vader calls the Emperor - VIDEO

robot chickenThe thing about sketch comedy is that it's sometimes difficult to judge the show as a whole, because some sketches work while others fall flat. I wouldn't call Robot Chicken a "sketch show" but I think the same idea applies. The writers and animators fire a ton of scenes at you like buckshot, and while some hit their target, others are either not funny at all, or just zip by too fast for you to catch them. In its own weird way I guess it's kind of a stop-motion Laugh-In. One of my favorite scenes from the Adult Swim series is the one where the Emperor gets a phone call from Vader after the first Death Star is destroyed. He would have called sooner but he's been flying around trying to get a signal. I'm pretty sure that's Seth MacFarlane doing the voice of the Emperor. Check it out yourself after the jump. Favorite line: "What the hell's an aluminum falcon?"
