Now John Stamos really IS joining ER

John StamosRemember back when ("when" being, I don't know, last year some time) there was news going around that John Stamos was going to join ER full-time, but then couldn't do it because ABC unexpectedly renewed his Jake In Progress? So all Stamos could do was a two episode guest stint as a paramedic.

But wait! The news is now official that Stamos will join ER full-time next season, but only if Jake In Progress isn't renewed (and this time it looks like it's dead in the water). I never knew what happened to Stamos' character on the show. I thought he died in that plane crash or run over or a blimp fell on top of him or something. He just seemed to vanish one episode, so it will be good to see what happened to him.

TNT adds another drama to its schedule

te scottThis one is about a troubled paramedic working in my hometown of Portland, Oregon. The execs at TNT really liked the pilot and have ordered 12 more episodes, to be shot this spring. Not sure if they actually shoot this thing in Portland but, if so, I'm totally going on a Tom Everett Scott hunt. He plays the lead character, described as "flawed' and "three-dimensional." Can't we all use those words to describe ourselves? The series, called Saved, made the cut among three new dramas that TNT was considering adding to its summer line-up. Saved is the third original drama for TNT, which found huge success last year with The Closer and Wanted.

Brooke Burns' friend saved her life

brooke burnsBrooke Burns is fortunate. Very fortunate. And she knows it. The former Baywatch star broke her neck when she dove into a pool last month, knocking her head on a surfboard. If it hadn't been for a friend, she probably would have died. Her friend was a paramedic firefighter, who, Brooke says, "wrapped a wet towel around my neck and basically immobilized me and floated me in the pool until paramedics came." Burns spoke to Access Hollywood last night about the accident. She revealed that she broke her neck "from chin to chest" when she dove into that pool. She also said that the accident has brought her closer to her ex-husband, Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck), who has been at her side since she arrived at the hospital on November 10th. Brooke is on the mend and will continue with her plans to co-star in the WB series Pepper Dennis with Rebecca Romijn, starting in January. In the meantime, she's stylin' in her personalized neck brace.
