Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King will make its network television debut on December 15th on TNT. The cable network has already aired the first two movies,
The Fellowship of the Ring and
The Two Towers over the last two years.
The Return of the King, for those of you living under a rock, wraps up the series. TNT is airing it in HD. It'll be available on VOD beginning Dec. 24th.
As is customary with TNT,
The Return of the King will air for three nights in a row. And, on Sunday December 17th, it will be preceded by the first two movies. With commercials, that's more than eleven hours of programming. I pity the fool who sits down to watch that. I mean, yes, Viggo Mortenson and Orlando Bloom are super hot in all three movies, but if you're going to spend that much time watching television, why not just buy the DVDs?

The will they or won't they saga of making a Knight Rider movie continues. Ain't it Cool has a
collection of rumors about the latest goings on with the project. Here's the short version. The pics recently floating around that were touted to be the new K.I.T.T., shown here, aren't real. However, one tipster suggests that the concept Camaro from recent auto shows is a possibility.
The involvement of Orlando Bloom as Michael's son also seems to be false. It is explained as the result of a conversation between Bloom and Hasselhoff at an awards show. According to the tipster Hasselhoff has no official involvement in the movie and there is currently no part in it for him.

A clip from the next season of
Extras made its way to YouTube (Season 2 is about to begin on BBC Two). In it, Orlando Bloom signs autographs and tries to impress Maggie (Ashley Jensen) by telling her how much more famous he is than Johnny Depp. In true Ricky Gervais fashion, it's simultaneously hilarious and uncomfortable.
Other celebrities scheduled for cameos on
Extras this season are David Bowie, Chris Martin, Daniel Radcliffe, and Sir Ian McKellan.
Orlando Bloom on
Extras video clip is after the jump.

In case you're one of the few Americans who didn't see
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest last weekend, you can always wait until 2008 to see it for free. That's when USA Network has the rights to air it on television. The network also has the first cable rights to the far superior first movie,
Curse of the Black Pearl, which airs tonight.
I saw
Pirates last weekend and it was so long and boring that I can't even imagine watching the damn thing with commercial breaks. By the way, you should check out
Ask a Ninja's review of the movie on YouTube. Hilarious and dead-on.

My big
year for Paula Deen was 2001, when I lived in Savannah, GA and discovered the Lady and Sons buffet on Congress Street
complete with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, hoe cakes, cheesy biscuits, and banana pudding. During one trip up to the
buffet, I actually spotted Paula Deen at a table and I went right up to her and told her how much I loved her food. She
said she loved it too and that she could never seem to order off the menu because the buffet was so darn good. I loved
her for talking to me with her sweet Southern drawl and I loved her for teaching me how to make mashed potatoes that my
husband once proclaimed were better than his mother's! I think that sweet personality is what is so appealing to all the
Americans who tune into her show and specials on Food Network. Sure, the food she cooks is shockingly fattening, but
it's the company we seek, isn't it? Although, I did laugh when another blogger launched the
Paula Deen Coronary Watch. Still,
there's no doubt that 2005 was Paula Deen's year. Not only did
Paula's Home Cooking get very popular, she also
got a supporting role in a Cameron Crowe movie,
Elizabethtown, starring Orlando Bloom!
Paula is
rightfully listed on Pop Candy's list of
Top 100 Entertainers of 2005, and
there's even
an interview with her over
on the site. She, of course, is very grateful for her success and hints that she plans to launch a line of kitchen
tools or dishes or something in 2006.
