Some oil investors were pretty pissed off when they saw Gary Milby doting upon his spoiled daughter on MTV's
My Super Sweet 16 earlier this season. There are four federal lawsuits pending against Milby for allegedly taking $20 million from investors in his Kentucky oil fields and then never giving them any return on their money. It's a long, complicated story about securities fraud and blah, blah... the interesting part comes when investors saw Milby on MTV, spending what they can only assume is their money on his daughter's birthday party. You see, they haven't been able to find the guy to serve him with the lawsuits.
Milby's Sweet 16 party for his daughter, Ariel, was pretty outlandish, even by MTV standards. He helicoptered her in to the princess-themed party and then she rode in a Cinderella-style carriage the rest of the way. There were the usual ice sculptures and fireworks, as well as a BMW as a birthday gift. I'm sure seeing this on television just rubbed salt on the wound of these poor investors.
I always wondered what the parents of these rich kids did for a living.

Burns: Since the beginning of time, man has yearned to destroy the sun. I will do the next best thing: block it out.
In no episode has Burns been more evil than in the two-parter "Who Shot Mr. Burns" that bridged the sixth and seventh seasons. He becomes so evil in fact, that Smithers actually turns against him, even though it "violates every sycophantic urge" in his body.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The episode begins with another normal day at Springfield Elementary, with one minor difference: Super Dude, the classroom gerbil, has died, crushed by his own water bottle. Willy buries the gerbil in the boiler room, assuring the dead rodent that his own father simply got thrown in the bog when he died. Although, didn't his father appear in the season ten episode "Monty Can't Buy Me Love?" Yes, he did, but let's not worry about that, okay? Okay.

Ah, Brad Garrett finally returns to television after playing Ray Romano's secret transsexual lover on Everybody Loves Raymond for nine seasons (I never watched the show, so I'm just assuming). At any rate, he's back starring in 'til Death, a series about a couple that have been married for almost 9,000 days who get new neighbors, a young newlywed couple who have yet to realize just how trying a marriage can be once that initial spark dies down and reality sets in. The series debuts this evening at 8, but before you tune in, let's take a gander at all the cool stuff FOX included in its press kit for the show.

(S02E13) This is an early review.
Tom Peters has a less than stellar marriage, and it's been implied, though never blatantly shown, that his wife Joy might be unfaithful. The real question doesn't seem to be why Joy cheats on Tom, but how an ugly screaming whale of a woman like her would be able to find someone willing to make love to her. Of course, plenty of men dig the rotund dames, but Joy manages to make herself unpleasant in so many other ways that seems like a moot point.
Part of enjoying Tom Goes to the Mayor --and I think by this point those who don't enjoy the show have moved on to other things-- is that it exists in a world pretty much void of any adherence to physical or moral laws. Tom has been killed, gone to hell, inexplicably transported both his father and the Mayor to an airplane in mid-flight, and been trapped underwater with a tiny man trapped inside him. He's also married to a woman who hates his guts, and it's never made clear why they're married. If you start asking these kind of questions, though, you really shouldn't be watching the show in the first place.
