(S05E12) Kind of like the summer season finale for
Burn Notice, it seemed like they saved the best for last with
The Closer. There was an interesting case, a colorful new character to go nose to nose with Brenda, and an up tick in the action, including a chase that was top notch. Kudos to Kevin Bacon who directed the episode and brought it all together.
For a time, it looked like Brenda and Major Crimes were on the trail of a ninja. No, not a real ninja, but a guy dressed all in black who kind of looked like a ninja. He used a blade, albeit a knife, and he was a stone cold killer who showed no mercy and seemed to take pleasure in the kill.

(
S11E10) So much of this season has been about jockeying for position on flights and very little has been about challenges. Finally, after we spent a lot of time in the airport at the beginning of the episode, we got to see some really cool challenges. The first Detour was Lost in Translation or Kung Fu Fighting-- with ninjas! I would've chosen that, too. The challenges, unfortunately, were super simple for everybody, but at least they were entertaining to wtch.
This week, teams flew more than 1,500 miles from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Hong Kong.

(S01E01) Afro Samurai is Samuel L. Jackson's latest venture. It's a captivating mini series that's something of an americanized cross between Tarantino violence and high quality anime. Aside from providing his voice for two characters, he's also co/executive producing it.
"Revenge"
begins in the past with the death of the boys father at the hands of Justice, a cackling creepy character, over posession of the #1 headband. I had to watch the fight a couple of times, but I still don't know just how Justice defeated #1. (A weaponized eyeball maybe?)

Rainn Wilson will finally put all that
Office martial arts training to work in his
screenwriting debut Bonzai Shadowhands. Wilson, who plays purple belt sycophant Dwight on
The Office, will star in the film as a once-great ninja who is now down on his luck.
The film, to be directed by Ivan Reitman's son Jason, is described as a comedy with serious overtones. "It's
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon meets
Midnight Cowboy." (No word on whether Wilson will have any "hustler in the city" scenes or not. "You know what you got to do, cowboy.")
