VH1 diva Tiffany "New York" Pollard is back this summer for another chapter in her celebreality life.
New York Goes to Hollywood premieres in August and will follow your favorite H.B.I.C. as she leaves Tailor-Made behind and tries to make it in Tinsel Town.
To rev up for the new show, VH1 put together a
set of promos that have New York acting as classic Hollywood characters. She plays Dorothy from
Wizard of Oz: "Toto, where the f*ck are we?" She plays Marilyn Monroe in that classic scene where the blonde starlet walks over the sidewalk grate. However, New York uses the breeze from the passing subway car to dry her nails and her nether regions. Whatever works, right? Finally, New York plays Forrest Gump and imparts some wisdom about life and chocolates.
The videos are after the jump. All three are stupid and unfunny. And all three prove the New York's new show is going to be a blast. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Remember back in February when we told you that Edie Falco was signed for a
new dark situation comedy from Showtime about a harried nurse?
Well, they've started filming the show in New York and given it a tentative title,
Nurse Jackie. What's more, the cast surrounding Edie includes some familiar faces.
Nurse Jackie will have a boyfriend and he will be played by Paul Schulze. The name may not be familiar, but the face sure is. Paul was Father Phil on
The Sopranos, the priest who spent a lot of time with Carmella and had her thinking they were going to replay
The Thornebirds.
On this Showtime series, he's Eddie and he works in the hospital in the pharmacy. That's important because reportedly Edie's character has a problem with drugs.
What's this, she's a female
House? Could she be popping Vicodin as prodigiously as he does? Could anyone?

Has Bravo gone to the well once too much? It sure seems that way. Hot on the success of
The Real Housewives of New York City, which was inspired by
The Real Housewives of Orange County,
Bravo is now rolling out The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Now, listen, I've watched the first two series; I admit that they are addictive. And they're convenient because Bravo re-airs them again and again, but come on! This is like Coffee-Mate coming up with all these flavored creamers. Do we really need so many creamers?

Now that we know that
Ugly Betty is coming back next season (it was never in doubt) and that the
Ugly Betty production is moving to New York, executive producer
Silvio Horta has shared a few more bits of news and tidbits about Betty and company.
For starters, the producers are determined to streamline the show, taking advantage of being in NYC and sharpening the focus of the show. Horta said the goal for the
Ugly Betty writing team for season three is "to make the show more about Betty's journey and to weave the characters into more unified, emotionally grounded plots."

So, if you're like me -- and I know you are -- you watched
The Real Housewives of New York City reunion show -- the one where Ramona walked off the set because she was shocked (SHOCKED!) that Alex had posed for nude photos that had recently been published. Well, that reunion show wasn't the end. Leave to the good folks at Bravo -- the same people that show episodes of
Project Runway, Top Chef, Workout, etc. over and over again so you are bound to see them two or three times each -- to find enough excess footage for yet another episode of the Big Apple socialites.
Calling the show a "watercooler sensation," Bravo has pieced together another hour of
The Real Housewives of New York City and it will air Tuesday, May 27 at 9 o'clock (ET/PT). Don't worry, if you miss it then, you'll be able to find it on one of the upteen reruns.

I have to hand it to the producers of ABC's
Ugly Betty; they've re-created the look of New York City and Queens so effectively in the first two seasons that I thought they did film the show in the Big Apple. Well, no. They filmed the pilot in Manhattan and inserted a real location or two here and there, but the bulk of the series has been filmed in Los Angeles. (Although the
Wicked episode was clearly not a Broadway theater -- it was just too spacious!)
Now comes words that
the Ugly Betty production may actually pull up stakes and make New York its real home, complete with costumes, props, studio and stars. The ABC Studios are contemplating the relocation for financial reasons, including very lucrative tax credits. While that's good for the producers, it sucks for the crew. They won't be transported to the city; they'll be let go -- about 150 in all. But if you're a glass half-full kind of person, that's 150 new jobs for New York workers. As for the stars, this change isn't a big deal as most are from New York and aren't objecting to moving -- at least that's the word from ABC.

Okay, I'm finally back from the New York Comic-Con and I still smell like the Javits Convention Center. Fandom seeps into the deepest layers of one's skin and take at least a few weeks to wash out. It's a scientific fact.
The first panel I attended wasn't even TV-related. Worrying that the
Battlestar Galactica room would fill before I could even step into the line, I sat through the preceding panel for
Wall-E and
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian to guarantee a seat. As it turns out, the theater is absolutely huge and two big screens were on either side of the stage, so my worry was kind of pointless. I was reminded of what I already knew:
Wall-E looks insanely cute,
Chronicles of Narnia has a greasy-haired new guy and the Jesus lion again. However, this is when I began to play a game that lasted throughout the entire weekend: Analyze the differing levels of scary devotion throughout various fanbases!

The world of primetime TV are primarily set in the real world. The real world based on the fiction they create. So,
Law and Order -- in all its incarnations -- is set in New York City, but it's not the real five boroughs. The newspapers they read are not
The New York Times, the
Post or the
Daily News. For contemporary TV fiction, reality is on the margins of the storytelling because you can't really set those characters in a real world. However, when the two worlds intersect, the results can be magic. Here's 8 big-time, primetime examples:
1) Cowboy Up TimeRemember the episode of
Lost when Ben wanted to convince Jack that he was in communication with the world outside the island? To prove that he was telling the truth, he showed Jack a video of the Boston Red Sox winning the world series in 2004. You can't get more real than that, right? And yet it was used in one of the most out of this world shows on the air. In fact, using
Lost's own terminology, the Red Sox video is a constant truth in a universe that's a complete fiction.

Jerry Seinfeld was all over NBC promoting Bee Movie? Well, maybe there was more going on with Jerry and the Peacock people than just honey-related promos. PageSix.com is reporting today that
Jerry Seinfeld is in talks with NBC for a new series.
You have to assume that if there's truth to this, the network is probably bending over backwards to secure a new
Seinfeld. Heck, if Jerry wanted to do a series about a forensic scientist who also does comedy on the side, they'd greenlight that, too! Will they call it

Showbiz has gone green, and that's not just ecologically! Green is flashing all over Hollywood.
CBS has given the greenlight to three more pilots, including a doctor drama, a psychic romance, and a British-based tale of international love.
NY-LON (no, not nylon the fabric!), refers to the New York-London connection via air. The story, which writers Patti Carr and Lara Runnels (who both worked on
'Til Death) are translating from the U.K. version, is about a British businessman who meets a New York City record store clerk while she's in London, and then their subsequent attempts to maintain a transatlantic romance. The series ran seven episodes in England, which is not atypical. Of course, for American TV, many more episodes than that will be necessary to constitute a hit.

If you've watched
30 Rock this past season, you've seen how funny actress Edie Falco can be. As C.C. (Celeste Cunningham), she's been a hoot opposite Alec Baldwin. Well, Showtime noticed, and they announced today that the three-time Emmy-winner, best known as Carmela on
The Sopranos, will star in a new show for their network. She'll be playing a "strong-willed, iconoclastic New York City nurse juggling the frenzied grind of an urban hospital and an equally challenging personal life" is the 30-minute, single camera, dark comedy.

When Rachael Ray signed on to promote Dunkin' Donuts, it always seemed like the pairing was a curious one. Whatever you may think of her shows or her recipes, almost everything she endorsed up until that time was of reasonable quality. Don't get me wrong, I like DD's coffee -- if I make it at home. But whenever I get it at a store, it tastes like crap most of the time. I don't know if they skimp on grounds, use too much water, or don't clean their coffee machines, but the result is almost always the same weak, bitter brew no matter which store I go to (at least the ones here in New Jersey).
So it didn't surprise me to read
this piece on New York magazine's website that speculates that Ray Ray doesn't think much of DD's coffee, either.

Thanksgiving is more than a time when families force members to tolerate each other for a few hours to get through a meal with minimal bloodshed. Oh, no. It's so much more: Thanksgiving is when TV Squad does these nifty lists of what we bloggers are thankful for in the TV world. My list will never be complete, because far into the new year, I will continue to think of the thousands of tiny things that should belong here. Of course, I don't have the time, space, or energy to make a thousand-item list, so an 8-point piece will have to do.
