It's hard to believe, but next month marks the 15th installment of
Survivor. This season, they're in China and the producers are getting all literary and stuff. The teams will begin in Shanghai and then go to a Buddhist temple where they will be stripped of all "worldly possessions" except the clothes on their backs. They will split into two teams and be given a copy of Sun Tzu's
The Art of War, which will apparently come in handy this season.
Today, CBS introduced the new 16-member cast. You can't tell much about their personalities from the general biographical information given out, but there are a few stand-outs already. For instance, there's a grave digger, a chicken farmer (whose name is 'Chicken'), a Christian talk radio host, a professional wrestler (Ashley Massaro), and a hiking guide from Kalispell, Montana. Okay, that last one is only interesting to me because she comes from my hometown. You can read more about the castaways
here.
Survivor: China debuts on CBS at 8 pm on September 20th.

The man who admitted to plotting to kidnap David Letterman's son, Harry, is
back in prison. Montana cops caught up with Kelly A. Frank today in Northwest Montana. Frank escaped from Montana State Prison
last Friday with another inmate, who
is still on the run has been captured. Frank was arrested in 2005 on charges that he planned to kidnap Harry Letterman and his nanny and hold them for $5 million ransom. He would've been eligible for parole next month. Dumbass.

Maury Povich and Connie Chung are giving back to their community in Montana by launching an online newspaper, The Flathead Beacon.
It sounds like one of the locations on Lost ("Jack, you have to lead everyone to the flathead beacon or we'll never be rescued!), but The Flathead Beacon is a new daily online newspaper that Povich and Chung have recently launched. It promises to be really focused on life and business in Flathead Valley. In addition to the online edtion, there will be a weekly print edition too.
This all sounds great, especially in this age where newspapers are dying. Let's just hope that Povich doesn't eventually change the newspapers focus to cheating husbands, fights, and paternity tests.
