How I Met Your Mother: Miracles (season finale) - VIDEO

How I Met Your Mother: Miracles
(S03E20)
Wow, talk about a jam-packed episode. We saw major character development, flashbacks upon flashbacks, some issues resolved and others completely thrown into chaos, and a whole lot of funny talk of miracles.

Oh, and we saw Sarah Chalke, as Carter Bays told me last week. That was just cherry on the sundae, though.

Since so much stuff happened, let's just get to it after the jump, OK?

David Greenwalt hired to run Moonlight

david greenwaltWhen CBS first announced their new show Moonlight there were a lot of people out in tvland that raised an eyebrow. A vampire? Who just happens to be a private detective? Romantic drama with a mortal? It wasn't a tough jump to Angel. I was willing to wait and see, because there are a lot of ways the show could go. It wouldn't necessarily have to be a rip-off of Angel.

Now comes word that in addition to recasting the female lead, the network has brought in David Greenwalt as Executive Producer/Showrunner. Yes, the same David Greenwalt who was a writer/producer for Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and is credited as co-creating Angel. It's getting a little harder to give anyone involved the benefit of the doubt.

That doesn't mean the show isn't going to be good. I'd go so far as to say the addition of Greenwalt makes the show look like a more attractive option for your television viewing schedule. Along with the his Buffy and Angel work, he was also the showrunner for NBC's Kidnapped, and ABC's Miracles. While both of those shows came and went rather quickly, it wasn't because they were poorly made.

Harold Perrineau joins CBS pilot

Harold PerrineauToday marks the big return of Lost, so it seems as good a time as any to see what Harold Perrineau is up to now that Michael has sailed off into the sunset with WAAAAALT! Back in September Anna mentioned some movie work the former Lost star had lined up. Now comes word that he has signed on to co-star in the CBS pilot Demons.

The show tells the story of an ex-Jesuit priest and psychologist named Gus who performs exorcisms. Perrineau will star as another priest who is the longtime friend and confidante of Gus. That's a little light on details, but makes me think of the short-lived Skeet Ulrich vehicle, Miracles, on ABC. Just knowing that little bit though, I'd say Demons has a tough road ahead. Religion is always a tough sell.

It's just a pilot at this stage, so there is no telling if it is even going to go to air, but it does make one less and less confidant that any of those Michael/Walt resolutions that the Lost producers have hinted at will actually bear fruit. The Hollywood Reporter article also mentions that there was talk of Perrineau returning to Lost, but they could not come to an agreement.
