Jorge Garcia, who plays Hurley on
Lost, will be in New York City's Times Square next Monday to celebrate the release of the
Lost action figures. The dolls are of six characters during season one of
Lost: Jack, Kate, Hurley, Locke, Charlie and Shannon.
We've shown you sneak peeks of several of the action figures
here (and there are
more pictures here). What we didn't realize is that the action figures also have voice chips that will broadcast quotes from season one episodes.
In case you're in NYC and you want to meet Hurley, you have to
get a ticket here. He'll be signing boxed sets at the Times Square Toys 'R' Us from 4p-7p on Monday, Nov. 6.

IGN
has some pictures of the new
Lost figurines that will be available in September. They're made by McFarlane and feature characters in scenes from the first season. For instance,
Charlie's sitting on a log writing F-A-T-E on his fingers and
Jack appears to be stumbling out of the jungle, still in his suit. There's also a larger one with
the hatch, and 11-year old boys everywhere will be begging for a
Shannon doll for Christmas.
The dolls look pretty awesome, with a few exceptions. While the details are pretty astounding, the faces of two of the characters seem a little bit off.
Jack sort-of looks like Adam Sandler.
Kate isn't quite right, either.
Locke and
Hurley look pretty rad, though.
Unfortunately, there isn't a Sawyer doll. So Kate and Sawyer are never going to hook up!

Okay, maybe not with kung-fu grip. "Faces in perpetual states of shock, horror, and/or 'WTF'-ness" are more likely. Anyway, McFarlane Toys are coming out with a new line of
Lost action figures of season one's "fan-favorites",
Jack, Kate, Locke, Hurley, Charlie, and Shannon. They've just released a picture of the Charlie figure. He's sitting down, writing on his fingers. Hmm... Doesn't look very action-y. McFarlane Toys is also releasing boxsets, little dioramas that recreate key moments of the show. So, if you don't like the season finale, you can always film your own.
Maybe it's just me, but the choice of Shannon to be a part of the first set of "fan-favorite" toys comes as a bit of a surprise. If I had to go for one of the deadsies for this first set, I would have picked a Boone figure over a Shannon one. The fact that I found Boone attractive has nothing little to do with it. The toys are expected Fall of this year.
