John Basedow has a 12 pack, MySpace page

BasedowYou've seen the ads. Those "Fitness Made Simple" commercials with the lame but catchy jingle. ("It's Fitness Made Simple...Made for real people!") Now John Basedow has made a promotional video for his new reality show.

Basically, the video is him walking around a mall, signing autographs, talking to people, and getting kisses from women (one woman says "he's sooo hot"). Many people also say he's "rockin' the hair," which I think is a good thing. I'm not quite sure why he says at one point that "the reality crew" with the camera has been following him around all day, like he doesn't know who it is. I mean, the video is for John Basedow TV, but I guess it gives it that reality "feel."

You don't find out until the end that the reality show they're talking about can be seen exclusively on...his MySpace page. Yeah, I have a reality show too. It can be seen exclusively in my living room every night. Of course, I'm just jealous. And his fitness strategies actually seem really logical and effective.

American Idol drop-out has a new album

mario vazquez; american idolRemember Mario Vazquez? He dropped out of season four of American Idol just as he was about to grace the Top 12 (making room for Nikko Smith). He also seemed to drop off the face of the earth for a while, but he's back with a new album. In an interview with People magazine, Mario says that he is happy he left American Idol when he did because he would've had to do a bunch of crap he didn't want to do if he had stayed on the show. Instead, he's been recording an eccentric album that he says isn't as "safe" as they play it on American Idol. He describes the new album, which comes out on September 12, as a mixture of hip hop, pop, R&B, and reggae. He's currently performing songs on a tour of American malls, which he light-heartedly refers to as "The Tiffany Tour".

More work for Full House's Jodie Sweetin

jodie sweetinThings are really looking up for Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie on Full House so many years ago. Shortly after revealing that she was overcoming an addiction to methamphetamines, she was hired by Fuse music television to host a show about stripping. Fuse is keeping her around. She's set to start filming a series about malls for the music channel, called Get Malled, beginning on Monday in Philadelphia. The series also includes guest appearances by Justin Long ("I'm a Mac") and Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewives. After the series, Sweetin says she has two movies lined up, although nothing is listed on her IMDB bio.
