TBS has a few comedy goodies baking in the oven, including that new talk show from the Jim Henson Company we've mentioned here before. The late night comedy block begins November 27 with 10 Items or Less, a series about a businessman who returns home to take over the family supermarket after his father dies. Pilots that may potentially become part of the block include the aforementioned Henson show, The Late Night Buffet with Augie and Del; a new comedy from MadTV impressionist Frank Caliendo; Off the Road with Andy Daly; and a comedy about news called What's News? Yeah, that's never been done before a million times. Jenny Hunter, a producer for both The Daily Show and Man Bites Dog, has also signed a development deal with the network. Out of all of these, I'm most interested in Late Night Buffet, but then, I have a thing for puppets.Posts with tag late night buffet
TBS adding new comedies to lineup

Hey, remember a while back when I mentioned a new talk show was being developed by the Jim Henson Company that wouldn't feature the classic Muppets but rather a whole new set of characters? Well, shortly after I mentioned that, a little more information came to light about the series, but I must have been distracted by something shiny, because I forgot to mention it here. So, if you'll forgive my brief bout of amnesia, I'm here to tell you that TBS has expressed an interest in Late Night Buffet (which is said to be geared towards a more "mature" audience). The partly-improvised show would be part of the network's late night block of shows. A pilot episode has been ordered, but that's all that is known so far. The show will feature a host named Augustus Pfiffle and his sidekick Delbert Kastle. Thanks as always to Muppet News Flash.Jim Henson Company prepares late night talk show
The reason I didn't use the word "Muppet" in that headline is because the new late night talk show from the Jim Henson Company, Late Night Buffet, will not feature any of the "classic" Muppets you're used to seeing. Instead, new characters have been created for the show, which is said to be aimed at an older and more mature audience. Unfortunately, that's all the information there is at the time. At this point we don't even know what network will be airing the show or when it will air exactly. This information comes from Muppet News Flash, which also has links to information on how you can be an audience member at the first taping on July 22.
