CBS reporter walks out of the hospital -- UPDATE

kimberly dozierKimberly Dozier left a Maryland hospital this week, two months after nearly getting killed when a car bomb exploded nearby. Two of her colleagues, cameraman Paul Douglas and soundman James Brolan, were killed in the attack. Dozier suffered serious injuries to her head and legs. She was treated in Iraq, then moved to Landstuhl in Germany, Bethesda in Maryland, and finally to Vernon hospital in Maryland. When she left the hospital this week, she thanked the Army's 4th Infantry Division for treating her immediately after the attack and paying tribute to her fallen colleagues.

Amazingly, Dozier plans to return to work as soon as possible. She still has a few more surgeries on her legs.

CBS reporter's recovery is "miraculous" -- UPDATE

kimberly dozierFrom the Good News department comes word that CBS reporter Kimberly Dozier is making a "miraculous recovery". Those are the words used by CBS News president Sean McManus, who is not a doctor. Still, two-and-a-half months after being critically wounded in Iraq, she's about to be released from Bethesda Naval Hospital. Dozier sustained shrapnel injuries to her head and legs on May 29 when a bomb detonated near the convoy she was traveling with in Baghdad. Her cameraman, Paul Douglas, and soundman James Brolan were killed in the blast. McManus said that Dozier will have full use of her legs and she apparently didn't suffer any brain injuries because he describes her as "sharp as a tack" and says she plans to return to Iraq.
