While
Kevin Costner is executive producing a new A&E Western mini-series event, he's not as sure if he'll be directing any of it or even if he'll be appearing in it. It all depends on the script. So he's not sure if it'll be good enough to bother with beyond his current EP duties?
Come on, Kevin. This is A&E. Remember their first, and only so far, mini-series
The Andromeda Strain? Yeah,
I actually watched it and it was horrible! Which means this one simply has to be better. Right? It can't be much worse. Truly. It can't.

I could spend hours looking for old TV commercials that feature celebrities that went on to bigger and better things. Yes, I have a terrible social life.
After the jump is the long forgotten commercial from 1983 for the Apple Lisa, the very expensive (I think it cost around $8-10,000) computer that launched just before the Mac. I'm not sure how many Lisas Apple sold, but it wasn't a success, though its place in computer history is legendary. The ad stars Kevin Costner, long before his big screen success in movies like The Untouchables, Bull Durham, and Field of Dreams.

At long last, Steven Spielberg's 1980s anthology
series is
coming to DVD! The first season of the
show hits stores on July 18.
The bad news? This is a Universal set, so there are hardly any extras at all.
But it's still good to finally have the show on DVD, even if overall the show was so-so (from what I remember anyway -
haven't seen the show in several years).

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest
has
bought Kevin Costner's Hollywood Hills
home for $11.5 million. WTF?!
Seriously, how much house does one person need? Could he spend, maybe, $2
million on a really nice home, and maybe spend the rest on hair product, or maybe gifts for Teri? Why spend that much
money, unless you're role model is Dr. No and you plan on trying to take over the world from sercret underground lair?
Is the place surrounded by water like in Costner's
Waterworld?
I'm actually a defender of Seacrest,
though I guess this seems a bit extravagant to me. But what do I know? I'm just happy I could pay my electric bill this
month.
