Fear this: Dan Aykroyd as Yogi Bear

Yogi Bear and friendsI could make another joke about how Hollywood is out of ideas, but why bother? However, as further proof of the concept, a live-action/CGI Yogi Bear movie is in the works based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon from way back when. Dan Aykroyd will be lending his voice for Yogi and Justin Timberlake will be the voice of Boo Boo. Did anyone else just feel a cold shiver down their spine?

Anna Faris will also be in the movie as a documentary filmmaker. I like Anna Faris even when she's in crap movies, but I don't think her presence is going to make me like this one.

I'm sorry to say that this movie will likely do well and the kids will eat up. Look at Hollywood's history of similar movies (most of which have actually spawned sequels): The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, Garfield, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Scooby Doo ... the list goes on.

So what do you think of this idea?

Leno Weekly: Bill Cosby, Jeff Dunham, Dana Carvey and more!

Bill CosbyThursday's return of 30 Rock afforded a pretty fun segue into The Jay Leno Show. 30 Rock has always been a little self-aware, and here they took that to the next level. During the closing credits, Jack (Alec Baldwin) said to Liz (Tina Fey), "Step into the light, Lemon. There's nothing wrong with being fun and popular and just giving people what they want." He then turns directly to the camera and adds: "Ladies and gentlemen, Jay Leno."

Unfortunately, when we cut to The Jay Leno Show, his dancing girls (an homage to Jenna's video in 30 Rock) were better at looking good in their tight shorts than they were at dancing. Then, after Leno came out, we got to overhear a woman wanting to get something signed. "Can I leave it?"

I did enjoy the smooth transition into the show. It creates a sense of synergy on the network where you feel like all these shows are one big happy family. Except for Southland. But I guess there's always that one relative nobody wants around ... Hey, I just wrote a Jay Leno joke!

Betty White stops by 30 Rock for a visit

Betty WhiteI'm sure she'd say she's too old for regular television work, or that she's having too much fun guest-starring on every television show and half of the movies, but I just can't get enough of Betty White on TV. With it coming out now that Betty White has signed for a guest spot on NBC's 30 Rock, she might as well start making room on the mantle for her latest Emmy.

After all, 30 Rock gets all the nominees for guest star in a comedy (though White did get nominated for My Name Is Earl this past year). Reportedly White would play herself, which works well considering the premise of the show. 30 Rock does amazing comedy with their guest stars, and when you get someone as brilliant and talented as White, can it be anything but perfect?

Luckily, White wouldn't have to compete for that Emmy with another hot prospect for the folks at 30 Rock. After his Emmy-winning turn hosting Saturday Night Live, why wouldn't they want to nab Justin Timberlake as well?

On the new Battlestar flick, Justin Timberlake, and the space-time continuum

battlestar cyon toasterNow this is getting ridiculous. There's a rumor on the Web that Justin Timberlake might be cast in the new Battlestar Gactica movie.

At first I didn't know what to make of Universal and Bryan Singer's plans to move ahead with a Battlestar Galactica reboot flick, but now I'm sure I want to see the project die a fiery, fiery death. Casting Justin Timberlake in a new Battlestar movie isn't the problem. The problem is that its just plain ridiculous to have two very different versions of the same beloved franchise out there at the same time. It'll be like Marty McFly running into his future self at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance in 1955. It could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum!

Justin Timberlake heard you wanted "Motherlover" uncensored

Motherlover

Oh, Justin Timberlake. You know what your audience wants and you give it to them ... uncensored-style. Hot.

In the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg gave everyone and their mom a real treat in the form of the "Motherlover" Digital Short. The video was quickly uploaded onto NBC.com and promptly exploded all over the Internet in a mildly graphic and suggestive way. It was from the actual live airing, though, so audience laughter, bleeped words, and less-than-superb sound quality were inevitable.

Saturday Night Live: Justin Timberlake/Ciara

SNL Digital Short: Motherlover
(S34E22) Justin Timberlake returned for his third turn as host and it was tough not to keep expectations pretty high. I mean, if an vengeful warlock were to suddenly put a crippling curse on his music career (like they do), Timberlake could definitely fall back on being a professional SNL host. Yes, this would become a real profession, just for him.

As usual, some sketches fell a bit flat, but Timberlake's over-confident, hammy swagger made things a little more interesting. This particular episode also gave us another legendary musical Digital Short with Timberlake and Andy Samberg and a couple of all-around MILFs. It's tough to top a surprise appearance by Leonard effin' Nimoy, but "Motherlover" was certainly the highlight of the evening. Here are some other notable video moments!

Janet Jackson's breast is costing me money

Janet Jackson and Justin TimberlakeA long, long time ago, a federal appeals court threw out the $550,000 fine against CBS for the famous Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake BoobieBowl. And now, after further debate in the courts, it looks like someone in the United States judicial system might have changed their mind.

You know, I just love it when the courts waste my taxpayer dollars by not being sure whether or not seeing a female breast for one-tenth of a second will traumatize the minds of children. To call this entire legal situation a farce is an insult to farces everywhere.

It's time to get over it. The children who saw the breast are now teenagers who, given the ubiquity of the Internet, have seen many more breasts. It's like a bit of the narrow-minded, suffocating zealotry of the last administration is still gasping for breath.

However, if you insist on giving a fine to someone, forget CBS. This was obviously not their idea. Give it to MTV simply for the poor quality of its programming. Thanks.

Here's a sneak peek at MTV's new show about a phone

Justin Timberlake and MTV have teamed up for a new reality show titled The Phone (it premieres tonight at 10). Here's the trailer for the show. Though the title makes it sound like a remake of one of those Japanese horror flicks, the trailer makes it look more like The Mole or 24.

Justin Timberlake and Will Ferrell to wrap up SNL season

Will FerrellBelieve it or not (and like it or not), there are only two episodes left in the 34th season of Saturday Night Live. It looks like no one from my "Nine people who must host SNL next season" wish list actually did it, but that's okay because there were some great stand-outs anyway, including Anne Hathaway and Jon Hamm.

The show seems determined to end with a bang, bringing in two sure-to-deliver performers. May 9th will bring in Justin Timberlake (and musical guest Ciara) and season finale duties will be left up to former SNL player Will Ferrell.

Bobby Moynihan: In the Limelight - VIDEOS

Bobby MoynihanAt one point or another during this latest season of Saturday Night Live, every viewer has wondered, "Who is this new guy, and why does he wear so many giant cat costumes?"

While I can't answer the second part of this question (it will remain one of the great mysteries of the late night universe), I can offer a little more information on SNL's resident new guy and rising star, Bobby Moynihan. Despite appearing as a featured player in only twenty episodes so far, Moynihan is fast becoming one of my favorite cast members on the show, right up there with Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig.

Fellow Moynihan fans, prepare to love him even more!

Will you answer the call on Justin Timberlake's The Phone? - VIDEO

The Phone, a new action-reality show on MTVJustin Timberlake is not only bringing sexy back, but he's trying to bring some excitement back to the reality television genre. Now, I'm not a big fan of the singer. However, his new foray into the genre sounds like it's going to be interesting enough for me to at least check out an episode or two.

The Phone makes its debut April 21 at 10 PM ET/PT on MTV. Timberlake is the executive producer for this action-laden reality show. While it's initially reminding me of the old "I know who you are and I saw what you did" and "the call's coming from inside the house," it's not that at all. It's more like folks signed up for a game show not knowing any details at all. Then the phone rings ...

Saturday Night Live: Dwayne Johnson/Ray LaMontagne - VIDEOS

Dwayne Johnson
(S34E18)
When I heard The Rock -- I mean, Dwayne Johnson -- was hosting again, the first image that popped into my mind was him in that Mr. Peepers sketch with Chris Kattan back in the day. I believe red overalls, apples, and aggressive humping was involved. Though Mr. Johnson traded in his red overalls for a sequined black halter top in this episode, he still did incredibly well. I had forgotten: Those aren't muscles; the guy has had charisma surgically inserted into his upper body over the past decade for easy access. Anyone else would have looked like an idiot trying to pull off The Rock Obama. Check out some video highlights and see what I mean.

So how was Jimmy Fallon on his first Late Night?

Fallon

It's almost unfair to review the first episode of a new talk show. After all, the show will be different every night, with different guests, different sketches, different musical guests. So to sit here and talk about what was good and bad about the first episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon would be unfair and silly. But let's do it anyway!

There's one thing I loved right away, and it had nothing to do with the host, his guests, the band, the sketches, or the audience. Can you guess what it was? The pic above is a clue.

TV Squad Ten: Top SNL Digital Shorts - VIDEOS

Lonely Island
To celebrate the release of The Lonely Island's debut album "Incredibad," we've compiled this list of the top ten Saturday Night Live Digital Shorts. For almost four years, Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer have brought us these videos, and they've managed to keep us laughing and humming their tunes weeks after they've aired. We hope this countdown makes you feel just as SNL-y in your digital shorts as when you first saw the videos, and if not, that's okay too. We're glad you're here anyway.

Of course, the rule is that they must have been prefaced by the "An SNL Digital Short" card to qualify. We know how much you love "Virgania Horsen's Hot Air Balloon Rides," but it's not happening. Sorry.

Saturday Night Live: Paul Rudd/Beyonce - VIDEOS

Paul Rudd
(S34E08)
This episode was warmed up like biscuits. Dance biscuits. I swear to God, I will find a way to work that into a conversation some time in the near future. This was certainly the strongest episode of the season, as the writers didn't seem quite so afraid to have fun with the more pointless or tasteless jokes. Sometimes, they try to do something bizarre but stop just short of a satisfying pay-off, leaving a palpable awkwardness. In this episode, they really pulled through and, thanks to some special appearances (hello, Justin Timberlake), gave Mr. Paul Rudd a very memorable episode. Check out some highlights from the episode.
