(S02E20) Trust. Five little letters that represent so, so much. For Chuck, trust has been key to his agreeing to be the American government's good little intersect. He's gone along with all the dangerous assignments, put his life on the line, lied to his friends and family, and every step of the way, he's trusted that Casey and Sarah and the General are working for the country's best interest, and by extension, his best interest.
After convincing the General that the only way to keep Fulcrum from getting their own intersect, the one not in Chuck's head, was to steal back Orion before he succeeds in building another unit. The fact that Orion was also Steve Bartowski -- Chuck's primary objective, i.e. "get back dad" -- was evident. However, for appearances, he let the team believe that he believed saving the interset was the most important thing.

(S02E06) "I'm putting my foot down...gingerly." -- Chuck
I'm now officially worried about Chuck Bartowski. It wasn't the injection of poison to create the antidote to the chemical agent in the hotel conference room that frightened me this week, or the previous episodes when he faced nefarious gunmen with evil intent. The fear is emotional. The return of Jill Roberts should be signaling DefCon 4.
This was one of my favorite Chuck episodes thus far this season. It's the way all the parts fell together. There was great balance between the character development and the action, as well as the funny stuff and the serious scenes. Also, I can't help but notice that Chuck is getting a lot better at handling his CIA chores.
But I'm still worried. More about that after the jump.

It looks like the television show
Chuck has scored
another famous guest-star. Jordana Brewster
will be appearing on the show for a minimum of three episodes in a pivotal role for the main character.
Brewster will play Jill, the college girlfriend who broke Chuck's heart by sleeping with his best friend Bryce Larkin. Bryce later went on to send Chuck an e-mail that put a lot of sensitive data in his head which became the show's premise.

ABC decided not to pick up the pilot for Mr. and Mrs. Smith starring Jordana Brewster and Martin Henderson (based on the movie of the same name starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie).
That does not mean, however, that we'll never see it. Regency and Dutch Oven, the production companies behind the series, had an "early release" in its contract according to the Hollywood Reporter, and they plan to start shopping the series around to other networks.
Smith focuses on the lives of the titular couple six months after the movie ends. They're still married, and they they still assassinate people. Doug Liman, who directed the feature film, also directed the pilot.

ABC had garnered a fair amount of press over this one because of the obvious tie-in to the Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie movie. The big news is that the creators of the movie are back for the TV show. Doug Liman (
The Bourne Identity, Swingers) and Simon Kinberg (
X-Men: The Last Stand) have signed on to try and transform their movie to the small screen.

The lovely Jordana Brewster has been selected to star in the ABC adaptation of the Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt movie Mr and Mrs Smith. The pilot will take place six months after the movie ends, with the married assassins being all romantic and stuff while still trekking across the globe and killing people for hire.
Brewster has been in demand this season for several other pilots. She was last seen on the movie screen in the films Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and The Fast and the Furious.
According to IMDb, Doug Liman, who also directed the 2005 film, will also direct the pilot episode. There's no word yet on who will play John Smith. In fact, it's not even absolutely clear if Brewster will be playing Jane Smith, though all reports seem to be making that assumption.
Thanks to Wild Bill for the tip.

The Hollywood Reporter has an interesting story about the five "hottest" television actors who are looking for plum roles. And by "hottest", the publication means they're most in demand (plus, they're good-looking).
The five actors that all the networks are trying to scoop up are: Jeremy Sisto, Paul Rudd, Peter Krause, Simon Baker and Gabriel Macht. Honorable mentions include Christian Slater, Steve Zahn, and Michael Vartan, who just took a role in an untitled ABC drama. A look at their profiles on IMDB show that most of these guys (except Slater & Zahn) currently have a break in their schedules.
