Just in case you weren't sure that this upcoming eighth season of
Scrubs was going to be Zach Braff's last -- and, considering both Braff and series creator Bill Lawrence have been alluding to this for months, it's a good bet that you were sure -- an article on Haaretz.com should convince you. Braff spoke to the magazine during his ten-day trip to Israel and confirmed that
he has already left the show (which wrapped the eighth, but not necessarily final, season over the summer), mainly because "there's so much I want to do with my life."
One of those things, I guess, is getting back in touch with his heritage.

Huh.
Farfour, the Mickey Mouse-looking host of a children's program that encouraged Palestinian children to rise up against Israel, is now dead. On the final episode of Tomorrow's Pioneers, Farfour was "killed" by an actor portraying an Israeli official after refusing to sell his land.

(S03E17) To begin, I have to ask, was I the only one who found it impossible to concentrate on what Megan Mullally was saying while she was undressing?
I thought this episode was almost perfect. The only thing missing was more Shatner. As I have already stated, I am a huge fan of Shatner and he is a big reason why I watch this show. An episode of Boston Legal without William Shatner is like an episode of Boston Public without Joey Slotnick or Boston Common without Anthony Clarke.
The show continued its tradition of great guest stars with William Russ continuing to try and atone for all those years of Boy Meets World.

It's rare that I see biblical history covered on television in a way I like. Not having a vested interest in the Bible, I prefer an objective approach, but too often such documentaries put heavy focus on the supernatural aspect and are rife with interviews with experts who are only interested in proselytizing.
Of course, faith and a belief in a higher power are important to any religious belief system, so such an approach can't be discarded entirely, but I'm one who just wants the information so I can sort it all out on my own. I'll watch a documentary to get information; I'll go to church to be preached to.

Mark Wahlberg, one of the creators of
Entourage, is working on another show for HBO. This time, it's a half-hour comedy about a shrink who is calm, cool, and collected with his patients but turns into a total nutcase when he sees his own shrink. Ah, the irony. It's called
In Treatment and is based on the popular Israeli series of the same name (of course, in Hebrew it's called
BeTipul).
Filming for
In Treatment is scheduled to begin next month. No word yet on a cast or an air date.

William Shatner is making great use of his summer break from
Boston Legal by promoting peace and therapy. He spent Memorial Day promoting horseback riding in Jerusalem. He's part of an American organization called Ahead for Horses, which believes that horseback riding is therapeutic to physically and mentally disabled kids. Shatner launched a new fundraising effort in Jerusalem to bring 30 riding programs to the country. He needs $10 million to do it. During a press conference, Shatner said he thinks the project can become a small part of the peace process because, even though it's in partnership with the Jewish National Fund, it is open to all citizens of Israel.

The
Olympics. An event where athletes from every country in the world gather to compete in sports. It's a time of unity. Of
heroes. Of peace. Somebody needs to clue Brian Williams in.
He joined Bob Costas as the commentator for the
Opening Ceremonies of the Turino, Italy Olympic games last night. And I almost
through threw the
remote control through the television set. Williams felt the need to share his news knowledge with the rest of us by
mentioning some not-so-happy news events related to specific nations as they paraded into Olympic stadium. Denmark?
Williams mentions the cartoon that triggered riots in Muslim nations. China? He talks about human rights and
environmental standards. Iran? He says that country's leader has called for the destruction of Israel. I much prefer
the interesting factoids about the nations, their Olympic history, and notable Olympians.
His comments were
unfair to the athletes of those nations. The news and controversy surrounding certain nations lately are not
representative of the athletes who are competing.
**Apparently, the
Daily Nightly commenters agree.

Welcome to yet another episode of
The Daily Show. Tonight's has been crafted lovingly out of, uh, cheese curds. But let's step away from the fake news for a moment to the real news... specifically, CNN's
Situation Room, a room in which you can see any... situation. The show did 29 hours of coverage on the
BTK Killer because the people need to know! Like... is he a bad guy? Well, his name
is Bind Torture and Kill. One can only assume so. It's not as though we need CNN to tell us exactly how to feel about this guy getting a life sentence (and by the way, the way to feel is "f*cking great").
