(S01E08) "New year, new neighbors, new secrets." That's Trina as she sets up for tonight's game of Puzzlerama, but can pretty much be said about tonight's episode. Everyone has secrets, and they're all coming out.
Before we get started, I just want to mention that I'm filling in for your normal Swingtown host, so if I miss anything, don't blame her. She'll return to give you next week's review.
The kids are back in this week's episode, but they're only making cameo appearances. The focus is really on Susan and Bruce and Janet and Roger and the feelings they have for each other and those around them.

(
S01E20) Ow. Watching this episode of
Brothers and Sisters hurt. It hurt in that really good way that results from really good writing. The writing was so good tonight that I really believed every character. And that is the really interesting thing about this show so far: the writing is the changing nominator. The actors stay the same, but sometimes the writing is really uneven, and other times, like tonight, it just crackles.

(
S01E12) Fun episode. I was instant messaging with my friend
Susan while we were both watching it, and she kept typing, "Rob Lowe is totally HOTTT!" This may tell you something about our ages.
Then at the end of the episode, she began typing frantically, "Where's the NOOKIE!" Because we were both misled by Kitty's saying in the previews, "Let's just pretend this night never happened," to believe that there was nookie. But I am sure there will be nookie soon. After all, why hire Rob Lowe otherwise?

(S03E07) Well, are those of you who predicted that Edie was going to get shot tonight disappointed? She is still alive and kicking. In fact, all of the housewives are. But a lot of mysteries about Orson are dead now with poor, demented Caroline Bigsby. Her gun and her lunacy certainly suggest that she could be the one responsible for Alma's and Monique's deaths.
Does anybody actually buy Orson's explanation of how Alma got her bruises? Actually, his last crack about his recommendation to put salt on a wine stain being the reason why Alma decked him does kind of ring true... I still haven't seen any creepy behavior by Orson to Bree since they got married. Creepy behavior? Yes. Just not toward his wife.

(S03E03) Okay, I am already getting tired of the inconsistency with this show: Either be a realistic show with some pithy insights into life, or be campy. Do you get to have it both ways? I guess so. But it drives me a little batty. Having said that, I will say, though, that even though I didn't watch the first two seasons (in the interest of full disclosure), that I'm now hooked on the show. Just because it's inconsistent doesn't mean it's not entertaining or compelling.
