Howard KurtzTaco Bell is moving back to Mexico. Yes, I said "back" because Daily Show failed to mention that this isn't Taco Bell's first attempt at taking their business to the country. Obviously, they shut down after two years, but I guess they felt like it was necessary to re-introduce tacos to the Mexican people.

"This Armenian Strife": It's just a fact: This American Life references are the greatest. It adds a bit of cheekiness to the not-so-fun topic of genocide. Senior Armeniologist Aasif Mandvi joined in to share his thoughts on playing down those not-so-fun situations. Only the Daily Show could get away with turning the "Holocaust" into a "Half-a-caust".

Say hello to Morning Joe

Joe ScarboroughIt looks like the rumors are true: Joe Scarborough is getting the Don Imus spot on MSNBC.

Howard Kurtz at The Washington Post is reporting that Scarborough and MSNBC are in final negotiations to make his Morning Joe show the permanent show in the 6am to 9am slot on the network. Scarborough has been filling in (with other hosts, such as David Gregory) since Imus went bye-bye, and has been getting good buzz (though not ratings). Some CBS radio stations might pick up the show as well.

How do you think Meredith Vieira is doing so far?

Meredith VieiraI don't watch the Today show every day, but I tend to watch it at least once a week, and I want to say this up front: I think Meredith Vieira is doing just fine. Is she completely comfortable in her new position? Probably not. But morning TV is a tough thing to tackle, and to expect her to be as smooth in the job as Katie Couric was is asking a bit too much. If anything, Meredith needs to assert herself a little more; sometimes she blends into the scenery, the goofy personality she displayed on The View not coming through as much as it should. But I guess that's what happens when you're forced to laugh at Al Roker's jokes for two hours straight.
