(
S01E12) Fun episode. I was instant messaging with my friend
Susan while we were both watching it, and she kept typing, "Rob Lowe is totally HOTTT!" This may tell you something about our ages.
Then at the end of the episode, she began typing frantically, "Where's the NOOKIE!" Because we were both misled by Kitty's saying in the previews, "Let's just pretend this night never happened," to believe that there was nookie. But I am sure there will be nookie soon. After all, why hire Rob Lowe otherwise?

Forget streaming video on its own site, Bravo is taking its content where the people are. The network has teamed up with YouTube to preview the first episode of the second season of
The Real Housewives of Orange County. The entire episode will be up on YouTube starting tomorrow (January 11), and the episode airs on Bravo on January 16th . There's also a contest involved in the partnership. Bravo is encouraging "real housewives" to upload video of themselves doing what they do and telling their "dramatic" stories. The winner, selected by Bravo, will appear on the show and be featured on BravoTV.com, plus a trip to NY or LA for a photo shoot for Star magazine.
I guess we'll see how many "housewives" know how to upload video to YouTube.

Sometimes the networks get it exactly wrong (
Eyes!), and other times,
they get it exactly right.
CBS has pulled
Tuesday Night Book Club after only two episodes. The show was really low-rated, and CBS hasn't announced whether or not the final six eps will be shown or not. Which is a really bad sign, because usually when there are remaining episodes of a canceled show, they'll burn them off during the summer. But CBS isn't even planning on doing that.
My suggestion? Go read a book instead, in the show's honor.

(S02E19) I don't watch this show any more for the plot. I watch it for the fan-frickin-tastic
guest stars, and the awesome one-liners.
I mean, you know that Susan is going to get in some ridiculous
situation with one of the many men she's dating / in love with / sleeping with / pretending to date. You know that
Andrew is going to think he finally pulled one over on his mom, only to get slammed by the vastly more experienced
scheme-stering of Bree. You know that Karl is going to be a dog and Gabby is going to be a little bit heartless and
Lynette is going to (once again) get conflicted about her role as mom or wife.
You watch for the fun. The
fun that includes
Kyle Maclachlan as a
random man in the movie theatre that Susan picks to pretend she's dating, then use as a confessor. And
Carol Burnett as Bree's step-mother. Not to
mention Gabrielle and Carlos appearing in court to defend their (essentially) kidnapping of their to-be-adopted
daughter.

What's a little infidelity between
friends? Tonight, more than one injured party could answer that question on
Desperate Housewives. It all
started off with an (innocent? you be the judge) kiss between Tom and Gabrielle. At first Lynette wasn't jealous, much.
Until... Bree managed to raise her jealous hackles with the news (what, Lynette didn't know? it seems as if EVERYONE
should know, hmmm?) that Gabrielle had an affair with her teenaged gardener.
True-to-slapstick-form, Gabrielle's
next appearance at chez Tom & Lynette occurs as Tom is carrying in several bags of groceries and the baby.
Gabrielle helps, baby spits up (and WOW that's a lot of spitup. Maybe baby has some GI issues. My crystal ball reveals
a future show where baby's pediatrician puts her on a gluten-free/casein-free diet.), Gabrielle gets all cleaned up and
half-naked. One uncomfortable moment, consider yourself set up.

Yet another
Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous-style reality show. This time, it's from Bravo. In March,
it's looking into the world of real-life desperate housewives. The program is called
The Real Housewives of Orange
County, and the title alone sounds like a cross between
Desperate Housewives,
The O.C., and
Laguna Beach. The series features five wealthy families that live in a very exclusive gated community in
Orange County, California. Bravo says the show, of which there are seven, one-hour episodes, focuses on the daily drama
and extravagance in the lives of the ladies of the house. Most of the women aren't stay-at-home moms, but are successful
in their careers. The descriptions of the women sound intriguing: one is a big fan of plastic surgery, another is a
devout Christian, another is recently divorced, and yet another is a 20-something newcomer to the neighborhood who just
got engaged to an older resident.
The Real Housewives of Orange County premieres on Tuesday, March 21 at 10
pm.
