ABC is turning back to an old favorite, hoping to rekindle some comic magic for the network. Funny, irreverent and -- two snaps and a swish -- occasionally brilliant comic
Damon Wayans has been tapped by ABC for a new single-camera sitcom pilot called
Never Better. Damon starred as a family man in the five-year hit
My Wife and Kids, doing a
Cosby-esque turn from 2001-2005.
The new show,
Never Better, is being directed by Marc Buckland (
My Name Is Earl, Ed) and centers on another family man, only in this incarnation, Damon is a guy who's struggling to be a good father and spouse despite his flaws and mistakes.

I know, I know, a lot of you are thinking "I always watch Seinfeld online!" But now you can do it legally.
TBS is streaming episodes of the show on their web site. Right now it looks like there are only four episodes you can watch: "The Truth," "The Muffin Tops," "The Yada Yada," and "The Millennium." I was going to say that these are four classic episodes of the show, but then again I would say that approximately 98% of the episodes could probably be considered classic. If you're like me and you've seen each episode 55 times, this might not seem like a big deal (especially since it's on at least twice a night and there are DVDs), but it's a good option to have I guess (sorry Mac users - TBS hates you).

TNT and TBS will offer all seven of their original summer series for free online. New episodes will appear on Turner websites about about 3 am the morning following their debut, and the episodes will be available for viewing for about a month each.
Believe it or not, Turner is one of the first cable networks to do the streaming episodes thing, following in the footsteps of the big four networks, ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX. Last summer, only ABC Family offered its original programming for free online. Other networks, such as FX, Sci Fi, USA, and E! have streamed occasional episodes (mostly premieres and finales) but not entire seasons. As
Broadcasting and Cable points out, it's probably because the cable networks can't demand a ton of money from carriers if their content is also available for free online.
Beginning next month,
The Closer,
Heartland,
Saving Grace, and
The Company will be on
TNT.tv, while
House of Payne,
The Bill Engvall Show,
My Boys, and
The Frank Show will be on
TBS.com. Episodes of
The Closer,
Bill Engvall,
My Boys and
The Frank Show will also be available on iTunes.

Tyler Perry, the man behind the popular films
Diary of a Mad Black
Woman and
Madea's Family Reunion is coming to television with a new syndicated show called
House of
Payne. Unlike his films, however, Perry won't be appearing on this show, which will focus on a multigenerational
family living in the same house. Perry will serve as an executive producer, writer, and director. He might possibly
appear in future episodes in a guest role. Perry chose to go the syndication route in order to maintain creative
control. The first ten episodes will be available in select markets with national distribution set for 2007.
