It seems that security at Honolulu International Airport
dropped the ball and mixed film canisters from ABC's
Lost in with regular luggage. Then the whole mess went through the X-ray machine, destroying the footage and requiring the show to reshoot scenes. Apparently the warning labels urging security not to X-ray the canisters didn't get the job done. The state's film office and the airlines have worked together to prevent future mishaps.
The loss was covered by insurance, and producers say that they are still on schedule, which is fortunate. There might be a revolt if they went back on that sixteen straight weeks promise after all the promotion it received. I'm hoping that instead of the costly reshoot, they blew the insurance check on booze and hookers and went with a crafty team of Korean animators to fill in the lost scenes. That's just nutty enough to work.

Duane 'Dog' Chapman, star of A&E's
Dog the Bounty Hunter, married his longtime companion yesterday on Hawaii's Big Island. The couple decided to go ahead with their planned nuptials despite the death of one of Chapman's daughters, Katy Chapman, who died the day before in a car crash in Fairbanks, Alaska. She was only 23 years old.
Chapman says he gathered his remaining 10 children, including two he has with new wife Beth Smith, to discuss whether to go on with the wedding. They decided to go ahead- making the wedding a celebration of the couple and of Katy's life.
Making an awkward transition... 'Dog' wore white jeans to match his white vest and boots in the ceremony. The wedding airs August 8th on A&E.

Michelle Rodriguez, aka 'Ana Lucia' on
Lost,
was freed from a Honolulu women's jail on Friday. She spent most of this week there after pleading guilty to drunk
driving charges. Rodriguez opted for the jail time, rather than 240 hours of community service because, she said,
autograph hounds would hassle her if she did work hours. Did she mean 'taunt'? The warden of the women's prison said
she watched TV and read during her stay.
Now, she
went to jail on
Tuesday. And she got out on Friday. If you're doing the math and wondering how that equals five days... stop counting
on your fingers, because it doesn't. Honolulu police waived one day of incarceration for time already served. She was
held in custody for a bit when she was originally arrested back in December and, apparently, that counted as one day
served.
Next up for Michelle is a movie called
Grapefruit
Moon and (possibly) another season on
Lost.
