Hannity gets caught by Jon Stewart ... and apologizes?!?

Hannity, Jon Stewart
Once again people, I'm forced to ask the obvious question: what the hell is going on here? Have we crossed over into the bizarro world? Is up now down? Has black become white? Did Lou Dobbs just announce that he's leaving CNN to take over the host chair of G4's Attack of the Show?

The other day, Jon Stewart called out Sean Hannity and his self titled show for what appeared to be doctored footage of Michelle Bachmann's recent health care rally dubbed the "Super Bowl of Freedom" (does that have anything to do with the Tostidos Fiesta Bowl of Human Rights?) spliced together with images from Glenn Beck's "9/12 Rally" to make the crowd look bigger.

MSNBC's Ed Schultz joins ranks of politcal screamers

Ed Schultz shouts his way through his show on MSNBC.This reporter was thinking just a little while back, that what this country needs is another intolerant political loud mouth on the airwaves. It doesn't matter what political party they call home -- R or D, liberal conservative. No TV viewer seems able to go more than a few minutes without having some self-important gas bag named Matthews or O'Reilly, sporting one ideology or another, raging at a camera.

Fortunately, MSNBC brings us another fix -- the emerging show from Air America personality Ed Schultz. Resembling a sort of square-headed Rush Limbaugh, Schultz's politics run more toward Keith Olbermann. But, let's face it: None of these guys are on TV to discuss sensible politics on either side of the aisle. They're on the air to pontificate, yell, scream and (in Schultz's case) have a borderline Network-ish nervous breakdown on camera every night.

Hannity does what now?

hannityApparently, he sucks ass. At least, that's what a man has written on a sign which he held up behind Hannity's partner Alan Colmes during a live segment of Hannity and Colmes that was captured thanks to a Tivo user. The veracity of Hannity's alleged ass sucking notwithstanding, I think we can all agree it's just plain rude to do something like this in public. The best way to tell someone they suck ass is to write it inside a card, seal the card in an envelope, don a top hat and tails, and present it to them while bowing politely. This is all laid out in chapter 13 of Emily Post's 1922 book Etiquette; it's right after the chapter on how to inform someone they're a douchebag by sewing the word into a cloth napkin. Seriously, people.
